I think that because of his age we can't sign him formally until he is 18 due to work permit rules.
I think that will be 15th September so we have approached a Chelsea like deal where we have agreed to buy him in advance and that could mean he either would come to us and not play for a few weeks in the summer window or maybe we'd have to postpone it to January. Either way it wouldn't be a huge shock if we loaned him out again at that point (Maybe back to Palmeiras or Rio Ave).
As far as I can see he is highly rated and features in youth national set ups and club u20 games but hasn't yet had chance to make a dent on the first team.
My hunch would be that his agent is waiting to see whether rumoured interest from Man U materialises into anything firmer and obviously Chelsea are bound to be sniffing around too!

Palmeiras will sign Riquelme Fillipi's contract renewal this Wednesday. The club rejected an offer from Nottingham Forest in England for the 17-year-old forward and will sign a new four-year deal .
The release clause will be 100 million euros (around R$609 million). Sporting, from Portugal, was also interested in the athlete, but Verdão worked to keep him at this time.
Nottingham's offer was for 6 million euros (R$36.5 million) to acquire 80% of the player's economic rights. Palmeiras had given the go-ahead for the deal to go ahead, but ended up deciding to renew the contract with the youngster.
