I'd expect to see Mangala and O'Brien start on Sunday, with Freuler on the bench.

In fairness to Coops he never rushes players when they arrive at the club and my guess is it will be O Brien and Colback again with a early sub in the second 1/2

I wouldn't be surprised to see us have a three man midfield of O'Brien, Mangala and Colback on Sunday.
How do you think that woukd work with the dynamics of the attackers though? I guess it really depends on hkw we switch it across across the back.

Im gonna be honest, im absolutely dreading seeing Colback in our midfield again but very excited at tbe prospect of Mangala. Hes gonna be mustard for us I think.

conceed midfield before the match starts with the same 2 starting.
This. a million times, this.

Colback wasn’t good enough as a starting midfielder in the league below.

He did well against Newcastle when judged against his own limitations. Basically he tried hard and got stuck in. In the grand scheme of the team he was a huge part in why we got absolutely battered.

All that said I love Jack and would still have him over Toff at LWB

100%.

I'd also say the same for Surridge. Was back up in the Championship yet starts our first game after half a pre season.

We need better. Luckily Cooper and Dane know this hence why we've gone out and signed 2 midfielders and a forward.

they were bigging him up on the Totally Football Show (Atlantic Podcast) as well earlier in the week.
Sounds like a great signing if we pull it off

This is all well and good but do we know whether his wife is happy?!

Duno if she’s happy but I bet he is…

It’s fascinating that you get dogs abuse on here for discussing Yates limitations but Colback is completely fair game!.
Not saying you are wrong Frog but it wasn’t just Colback at fault against the Geordies. I think he’s seen as one of the leaders by the management team and I also think that Coops doesn’t like being too reactionary with changes after a defeat. I suspect it’s about getting the players to “trust the process” or sone other modern coaching guff

It's because he's ginger.

In a few years from now - when the trans thing has burnt itself out - this will be the next big thing. It will be frowned upon to refer to a ginger haired person as a carrot top, ginge, Annie, bastard, flame-thrower, Spuggie, angry or anything else.

They will have to be addressed as 'people with hair that is not black, brown, blonde or grey".

Quite right too.

I said he did he well in respect his ability. Where did I say it was just colbacks fault?

I’m sure I said it before and I’ll say it again (as someone who bought a colback T-shirt for Wembley) I love the bloke but if you think he is good enough for the prem in midfield you’re wrong and I’d be completely stunned if coops was.

I’d imagine being ‘too reactionary’ principles all go out with window if you are losing every game
