Looks a good player in his videos but I can’t see him playing for a while until he learns the league. And I only say that because he looks like red card central if he was let loose doing what he does in Brazil.

Looks like he has a bit about him. Yeah some of those challenges could get him in trouble in the prem.

Andre from Fluminense, who we apparently bid for in Jan, would be my preference, but may be a touch expensive

we do need a defensive midfieler who can pass long and spread play, neither mangala or yates have that ability.

Wasn't Danilo a DCM with range at his last place? It might be we've already solved that problem in the medium term...

cooper seemed to want him as a box to box, only scarpa and the unnamed bald guy have that range of passing.
He's done a decent job as a box to box, though there may be a longer term plan at play? Pretty sure he has that passing range from left to right.

we'll see, if he goes attacking upfront, we might not see it. Scarpa has already shown in his limited appearance that he is quite capable of threading those long range passing that can turn defence to attack in an instance, we should see more of that next season.

It's a shame Scarpa isn't a few inches and kilos bigger - while he can mix it I'm not sure he has the presence Cooper seems to value for that anchor slot, and he's probably more attack minded than defense. He can ping it though so perhaps there's an option for him to play deeper - he was a left back at one point so you'd hope there's defensive discipline?

Obligatory FM stats:

FM believe his passing range to be mediocre, with his primary skills being ability to shield the defence.

If we've still got any interest in this guy then I suspect he's seen as an upgrade on Freuler rather than Shelvey - a place that "cuts the passing lanes" rather than starts the transitions.

Any interest could therefore also signal a move to a 4-2-3-1 with this chap anchoring the midfield next to a more mobile box-to-box player like Yates.

But how is he at Mystery games?

I reckon we'll need at least fifty seconds of time inside the Crystal Dome to stand any chance of staying up
Better at Aztec ones.

every club is looking for the next brazilian youngsters whether thru the brazilian market or elsewhere. Brighton has recently signed the uncapped João Pedro from watford for 30m.

Problem is, didn't we get rid of the scouting team that did most of our bundesliga signings? I just hope it means we don't complete abandon that market.

When you look at the hit rate from January of the South American wonderkid midfielders -

Danilo
Alcaraz - Southampton
Joao Gomes - Wolves

All went for similar prices and all adapted really well, probably all worth twice as much as they paid (apart from Soton because of relegation)

I’d take Alcaraz
