It never mentioned what type of midfielder but when I watched a couple of the obligatory YouTube videos this morning of him he definitely looked like deep lying playmaker type

Going off the videos and his stats he looks a good fit to play the number 6 role, the failed Shelvey experiment suggests Cooper wants a progressive passing option in that role.
Not much of a sample size because the Brazilian League only started again recently but his stats so far this season definitely show a passer rather than a progressive dribbler.
He's also decent defensively and in the air which is a bonus and also has a very decent long shot on him.

Exciting prospect. I know nothing about him so trust the club have a pulse on his potential, like with Danilo.
One word of caution though: I hope we strike a good balance between youth and experience.

I think we will. There will be a couple of Aurier and Felipe types come in to complement the younger signings IMO.
