I admire your optimism.

If we somehow avoid relegation (and lets face it, the F.A might well just dock us points for "bringing the game into disrepute" if they don't get their wish through refereeing decision against us) then we'll probably just get slapped with a points deduction next season and we'll get te same PGMOL drama as well.

We won't have an enjoyable season at this level whilst the league despises us and the owner can't put in place any long term strategy. It's all about finishing 17th, every year.

And on that basis, I don't think any manager will want to stay with us long term. The BS got to Cooper, Nuno is clearly struggling already, whoever replaces him will do as well.
To be honest, I think we'll either see no points deductions at all next year, or a plethora of them.

Everton will breach again, as will Leicester. Villa and Newcastle are at risk, and Bournemouth. It will be so absurd that the League won't be able to prosecute all those clubs at once.

I do genuinely believe we'll be better next year. It often takes several years of fighting relegation before clubs get to the point where they can survive comfortably in mid-table. I said it regularly all last summer when people were predicting wildly optimistic finishes this season.

I don't see Nuno's struggles as a problem with the board or ownership, like they were with Cooper. I think he's struggling with the PSR charges and the relegation battle, but has it in him to push the club forward once the madness has passed.

Said it myself and regularly use villa as a example. Some teams yoyo before finding their feet, villa with greanlish, martinez in goal etc spent 2 seasons around the relegation zone.

I’d love this but unfortunately he’ll probably be a candidate for half the leagues managerial positions.

If there is one good thing that Marinakis and the rest of the hierarchy done is lure top end talent to the club. Yes, we have paid over the odds foe many. But could any of us imagine that three years ago we would have seen the likes of Lingard, Navas, Henderson, Hudson-Odoi and others playing for Forest? Not I.

So I'm not writing off anyone from being our next manager, whenever that may be.

I cant figure Nuno out at all, he drops players that have performed well constantly, plays players out of position, makes odd subs.

I don't think he'll last beyond the seasons end.

Unfortunately I think Jose is hanging on for the Portuguese national job, he’s often said he’d like to manage his country before he packs in.

Can you imagine though, Jose Mourinho managing Forest? It would be certainly entertaining that is for sure.

More entertaining than the past couple of days?

I feel for Nuno really, he inherited all the issues Cooper had which have been discussed to death and on top of that he’s had the point deduction and the whole referee situation to deal with.

We will be the death of a manager soon with how mentally draining this job is.

Cooper looked like he hadn’t slept for a week just before we sacked him, I bet he feels much better now he can relax.

If we got relegated and Nuno were to go, I think I'd be setting my sights abit lower ..... someone like Michael Skubala.

Nottingham lad, young, been at the academy before, Manager of the England futsal team, coach of England u-18's through a good period. His teams play good football and he's done a cracking job at Lincoln since he took over.

League 1 table since Jan 1st below.
Obviously won't happen .... not enough pazazz or glamour for our ownership

He has indeed done a fantastic job at Lincoln. I'd imagine he's only working with a modest budget too.

I'd rather we thought outside of the box with an appointment like that than the usual unimaginative approach of pulling an out of work manager off the merry-go-round.

I think the club should start thinking about new manager targets now (both options for the Championship and Premier League).

Nothing against Nuno (who seems like a nice chap), but I don't think he's the right fit for the club, nor are we the right fit for him. It's probably in both his and the club's interests that we part ways at the end of the season, regardless of the outcome IMO.

I'm pretty sure they are. In fact, I suspect they always are!
I'd imagine they are, yes. Hopefully there is a proper plan in place for both outcomes (Championship or Premier League) in terms of player recruitment and a manager that fits what we want to achieve with the squad that we are looking to build.

Now you're going too far! There will be a plan, but it will change, and even then won't be proper and won't be adhered too.

On the evidence so far I'd question what Nuno has done to suggest an improvement in results wherever we end up. As for Murinho, just what we need, young progressive manager who manages the players he has with care and understanding, wouldn't upset the owner and has a stellar record with underperforming chaotic football clubs. Glad to say it's never going to happen.

Mourinhio and Marinakis?

A match made in heaven?

It would be a disaster, be low block city the like of which you couldn't imagine, and the icing on the cake? They still wouldn't win many matches.
