No way going to Saudi - he was desperate to get back to Premership - if he leaves it will be to a bigger club. Surprised Man Utd have not been linked.

The Nuno Espirito Santo Rolling Scorecard 24/25 Edition

Crystal Palace 1-1 Forest

A decent enough showing to arrest recent disappointments, but the kind of performance that divides opinion. Forest looked far more controlled early on than recently and played some nice stuff on the break against strong opponents. The lads could just about feel disappointed not to be leading at half time, but going in level was an advance on the most recent intervals.

The second half quickly became far more intense with chances at both ends before Palace went ahead. Despite the setback, Forest maintained their composure, quickly levelled and briefly looked set to push on to claim the spoils before our relatively small squad began to tire.

Things got very tense towards the end as the hosts threatened to overcome the lads' rearguard action and it was a relief at the final whistle when what will hopefully be an important point was confirmed.

Nuno cards par to remain at -16 on The Rolling Scorecard.

Trend (last 6): W, l, L, w, L, d.

So at the absolute worst this season, Nuno is going to card a very creditable under-par round.

I like this timeline.

Steady on Strum. That assumes a 15 over par final hole is totally out of the question. Give Sabri Lamouchi a call and ask him how that goes.
Ironically, the only forward player to have ever scored more goals against us than for us whilst at the club, and who shone at that time, was called "Nuno" too 😅

Interesting Nuno fact:

Nuno Tavares, formerly of Forest, has 8 assists for Lazio in Serie A this season, enough to put him in the top 5 for his league. An incredible achievement for someone who always appeared to me not to be able to actually play football.

Read an article the other week suggesting we were interested in Tavares again incidentally.

He can play football for sure. Just not for very long and rarely in the right place.

I know it's a bit of a daft criticism of a defender but Tavares' shooting was hilarious, he'd go on a blistering run then sky the f***er into row Z!

Nearly choked on my breakfast last week when i read that Lazio were going to make the loan deal permanent for 6mil and then sell him to Juve for 40mil!

Normally the Serie A is a league i love to follow but was too busy following every team around Forest, but apparently he's put in the season of his life at Lazio

He's the Adama Traore of fullbacks.

In seriousness there's plenty of players that have all the attributes but don't click until later - I suspect with Tavares he's more suited to the continental game.

If we were in I'd be happy, though I suspect he likes the continental lifestyle better and apparently wants to challenge for silverware so Juve will appeal.

My only concern with him is injuries really - he linked really well with Callum for a spell when he was fit.

I'm out of the Tavares race having looked at his injuries this year - 19 games missed due to injury this year. Amazing returns given that, but he's one of those that can't stay fit.

This is not the time for cool-headed thoughts for the future, but next season Nuno will have to reinvent Forest. You will not be the Cinderella trying to escape relegation anymore, you will be a top ten team of the Premier competing in a European competition. The 30% possession and lethal counter-attack norm of this season will need to transition to a more dominant style of play. You will need of course to maintain the magnificent defensive setup and resolve, but find ways to have a more structured attacking transition.

Today's defeat fell a lot on the manager today. I don't get why he insists on bringing players like Big T on instead of Sosa after so many vapid performances from him now. Jotas sub was too late (again) too, we were looking nackard (again)

The way Marinakis went off at him at the end raises a lot of questions too.

Always had the potential to get a bit messy after a dry January……

I remember when we hired him thinking if he can take us to 7th like he did Wolves it would be incredible

Done in his first full season, with really only two first team improvements from last season, is beyond anything I thought we'd get all season

The full league table, rather than just looking at a select few recent games, doesn't lie. It's been by far the best season I've had as a fan, with my first season being the season after the last relegation from the Premier League

I trust Forest to get a few players in in the summer who will improve the squad, maybe not the best timing but personally I think it's a very exciting time to be a forest fan
