We’ve basically added Anderson and jwp and lost Danilo to injury, I think the way Anderson has taken to the role has very much swayed everyone’s opinion.
Add jwp who hasn’t missed a match through injury since Matt mills was in nappies and I think we are well stocked in the middle now.

Haven't we already maxed out the number of players we can loan out?

It doesn't really matter with Oly though does it because if all parties agree on a loan then we'll just transfer him on a "permanent" with a £0 buy back clause.

Sure, but he wasn't playing for Forest in any of those matches.

Watch him tear a never before heard of muscle in his debut.
Torn arse cheek? Billy Davies-sponsored stress fracture?

As for Dominguez - it is strange (if true) seeing quality like him and Mangala pass through the club so easily. These are brilliant players in my opinion, but so be it.

This would be a shame for me but not that surprising. He's behind Anderson, Yates and now probably JWP for that number 8 role (although Yates is playing as the 6 as often).

Could we recall him from the loan at any time if we have injury issues, or would that be it until presumably January?
He also used to come on in games, or occasionally start, a bit further forward when one of the wingers came off. But those opportunities will be restricted by Sosa and Jota. I’d still like to see him stay though.

Assume the calculated risk would be that we can get through the next 16 league games to the start of the January window without him.

The concern for me is that we also have 2 batches on international breaks, with a lot of players now involved.

Not sure about this, if it happens…

Not sure about this but if there's a recall option in case we need him, it wouldn't hurt to keep him match fit.

Don't really see the point in brining in JWP just to move Dominguez out. No meaningful upgrade or strengthening of the squad, just change for changes sake.

If they want to include any Forest players in their Europa League squad, they better get on with it: Clubs competing in the Uefa Champions League, Europa League and Conference League must submit their squads for the initial group phase by 23:00 BST on 3 September 2024

It would be a shame as I think he is our best midfielder. I guess if we had a recall option, it would keep him playing. Its a constant cause of frustration to me that he hasnt had a run of games in central midfield since the beginning of last season.

I've referred to him before as the footballers footballer. One of those that other players would absolutely love playing with. Intelligent, high energy and very good comfortable on the ball.

The reactions on here alone show that his qualities are recognised too. It really would be a shame if we lost him as he is one of our best footballers but he has unfortunately fallen down the pecking order.

I like him but he has regressed since he first joined us, which isn't a surprise as his first few games we looked like we'd just signed one of the best midfielders in the world he was that good. Still high energy but he was dictating play previously and he's not managed to do that for some time now, he has become more of a Yates type player just lacking the physicality Yates has, which is why he's fallen down the pecking order.

I don't think there's much between our central midfielders but Dominguez would currently be bottom of the list for me, which is a shame for him as I reckon we might well have taken money for Danilo on deadline day from Man Utd had he not got injured, and that would have given him an easier route back into first team.

Yeah I agree with this. On his debut at the Etihad and for the next few games he looked like a world beater. Since then it's been mostly good but not quite at that level. No idea why really, though I guess in that initial phase Cooper was playing him as one of a central 3 with Mangala and Sangare.
