Dominguez is a brilliant player all our midfielders will have a part to play this season with there usually being at least 10 minutes added on in a whole match.
If One Midfielder leaves in this window we would 100% replace them.

He’d definitely be ahead of Yates, for me. Probably tied with Danilo, for a space in the midfield two (or potentially three).

I think Anderson moves ahead of him, shortly.

He does offer us versatility able to play in those wide positions and gets into the box (and finishes) better than any of our midfield options.

We are overloaded in midfield though, so wouldn’t surprise me if one moved on. Given that it’s unlikely to be Yates, and Danilo has a higher ceiling then it makes sense if Dom goes. I’ll be disappointed though.

Me too, he's a footballers footballer. Everyone that plays with him will appreciate everything he does and just what a great technical player he is and he's got genuine football intelligence.

Doesnt make sense to me. We'll need them all along with sangare. Some might play 30/35 mins some weeks but we need capable individuals to keep our overall intensity really high.

This season about moving from a quality 11 to a quality squad

I think it depends how willing we are to play Anderson or Dom wide or in the 10 position with any regularity. Whilst Dom can play there, I’d much rather have a proper winger out there whenever possible.

If not we have five players fighting for two spots.

Easy to imagine us playing Dominguez in a wide midfield role (instead of a winger) against the likes of City, Liverpool and Arsenal.

I have this dream of being able to bring MGW off with 20 to go when we are 3 nil up. Not even felt remotely possible in the last 2 years.

I think there will be occasions where we attempt to narrow/box the midfield leaving Elanga higher with the forward - suspect that's a factor in why we've been giving him minutes in central areas preseason. Dominguez and Anderson will allow that.

Seeing out games better will be a huge factor in how well we do this year imo.

„Free at Last! Free at Last! Lord almighty I’m Free at Last!““ shouts MGW as he loses his marker and smashes an unstoppable drive into the top-corner!

Olympiacos is preparing to welcome a significant boost in the center of the field with the arrival of Nicholas Dominguez. The 26-year-old Argentine midfielder, owned by Nottingham Forest, is said to be very close to transferring him to Piraeus, with the loan

Wouldn't be happy about this one bit!

ours is not to reason why.
Ours is but to do and die.
We strengthen the squad by bringing in cover, so we can cope with the loss of Danilo.
Then we reverse that position by shipping out an important squad member.

This would be a shame for me but not that surprising. He's behind Anderson, Yates and now probably JWP for that number 8 role (although Yates is playing as the 6 as often).

Could we recall him from the loan at any time if we have injury issues, or would that be it until presumably January?

Not so sure of this move. Dominguez is a PL standard player and we may need bodies when injuries and suspensions kick in later in the season.

Best hope that JWP and Jota come good.
