Ah boo, it was just talks a couple of weeks ago.Sorry, but that is piss funny.
When did he sign a new contract?
Werner never performed. As for Lukaku, whether Tuchel bought him or not, it was a big money signing and Tuchel did not seem inclined to adjust his tactics to accomodate what Lukaku could do in the right tactical regimen. Inter use him a certain way, as do Belgium. Tuchel chose a different path. He's certainly a top manager, but also a stubborn man.No sympathy for Chelsea.
Started playing some brilliant football when Tuchel took over from Lampard and they had Werner, Havertz, Giroud and Abraham up front.
Went down hill right around the time they signed Lukaku who didn’t fit their way of playing (doubt that was a Tuchel signing…) and injuries to Chilwell and James proper f**ked them up.

New manager bounce? Clubs get the no manager bounce against Forest.Feels a bit premature to get the new manager bounce before we play them on new years eve...
Excellent? 10 goals in 56 appearances. Missed TONS of gilt edged chances. He was excellent in Germany.Werner was excellent.
People just saw him miss a couple of chances and ignored everything else. Him and Mount were excellent that season.
Why would Tuchel change Chelsea's whole system to accomodate Lukaku? Especially when they'd previously spent big on 3 or 4 players to play a certain way.
Ah, you’re just going off goals…Excellent? 10 goals in 56 appearances. Missed TONS of gilt edged chances. He was excellent in Germany.
Not at Chelsea.
It makes it all the more stranger he was allowed to go on that summer spending spree thenBlimey the beeb reckon the decision as taken before the game against Dinamo Zagreb ... seems the new regime really just didn't like him and it was mutual
Was it him? Or the club?It makes it all the more stranger he was allowed to go on that summer spending spree then
If he does well, then he'd be a shoe-in for the England job when he gets the sack. In fact, he could probably manage both Chelsea and England this season.Potter at Chelsea then, this will be interesting.
There's plenty to admire about not playing the game of managerial hirings and firings in this country, but going abroad to expand your knowledge and experience. I liked Roy Hodgson for having had that breadth of experience, even though it didn't work out so well for him.Not so long ago ... that's quite the career acceleration.
