I don't think the general football fanbase hive mind knows how good he is but I think the people who matter do. He has so much potential to get even better as well that perhaps even we underestimate how good he could become.

On top of that, he appears to be a very humble, likeable lad.

His song for those that may not have heard it.
Someone helpfully posted the words:

He's from Sao Paulo, he plays in red and white. He hates the derby, he thinks they're f***ing shite.
He's breaking ankles, everywhere he goes.
His name's Murillo, Murillo dos Santos.

Please, please, please I want to hear this on the telly next week.

Sauce salad?
Kid should get a medal just for starting 30 consecutive games. Unheard of for a PL defender for us - wonder how many different combinations he's played in? Bet it's well over ten.

If he goes this season, he plays a season transitioning into a top 6 CB, off the bench or starting a few matches. He goes next season and he slots in a top 6 side playing week in week out.

I can't remember too many young centre backs who have arrived from a non-European league with very little experience in the professional game take to the Premier League like a duck to water.

What Murillo is doing is quite incredible when you think about it and I think it's his mentality along with his natural skill which will take him to the very top.

Also let's not forget the lad has played 60 or so professional games

I saw this quote on facebook today.

Murillo: "I always dreamt to play in the Premier League. For me, Nottingham Forest is the best group, the best team with a big history. We need to stay in the Premier League."

I honestly hope he chooses to stay and be with us. He is going to be a massive player and we are lucky to have him.
Yeah that’s quote came from that first interview he did at the weekend. I picked up on the PL dream comment too. I’d be genuinely gutted to see him sold in the near future.

If there is one reason FFP should be scrapped it's because it forces clubs like us to have to wave goodbye to players like Murillo far too soon.

I don't believe that's the case.

Bigger clubs have always had their pick from smaller clubs.

Yes PSR would prevent us matching a top 6 wage bill due to our lower income, but if you removed those artificial spending restrictions they'd still have deeper pockets than us anyway.

Obviously I don't know what would tempt Murillo individually to stay or go, but for most young players the chance to play in the champs league with Liverpool or man u would be a draw too big even if we could match the salary.

Sadly, due to recent successes, you'd have to put man city and Chelsea in that bracket too, plus the usual famous foreign clubs.

The issue is not PSR, but that millionaire players hold all the cards - if they want to go then they will get that move.

The opportunity for Forest is to show we're a stable, well respected and well run club, completely focused on performance enhancement. It might only get us another year or two from genuine starlets, but that would be material to our chances of progressing, and the best we could hope for until we're back in the champs league ourselves.

I'm not sure we look like that kind of club atm though.

*Disclaimer - I'm not defending current PSR rules, they're rubbish.

Remember his first interview? I’ve come over to win the premier league and champions league and we all had a bit of a giggle!
Think he might have the last laugh.

I remember watching that at the time and thinking either that lad is completely delusional or he's the real deal. Its most certainly the latter, and no he won't win it with us but he'll have that trophy in his hands at least once before he heads home to Brazil.

One of the highlights of the season for me was my neighbour asking me "Did you hear a girl screaming?" and it happened to be me whilst watching Murillo take flight away to Palace. That was the moment every one of us knew we had something extraordinary on our hands.
