I have to disagree. He has kept us up with his last man defending. Without him we go down. If we accepted £100m we would lose £150m in revenue if we went down and be in all sorts of financial trouble. Clear out the deadwood to keep us within PSR, starting with Sangare and give Murillo a big pay rise
One single player won't be the difference.

We are a lower half side, all of our players have a price, if we get offers above that we sell.

Unpopular opinion possibly, but while I love watching him play bring in a commanding ball playing CDM who can play through the lines - say for example a Barkley or the one Sangare was supposed to be - and replacing Murillo wouldn't be too difficult.

He's a great player though, and I'll miss him if he goes, but as long as we have someone who can dictate play from deep we'd be ok. Proper Rolls Royce.

Would be nice to have both but probably beyond our financial constraints.

Which is exactly how the FA want it.

What is his contract length?

One more season would be great. Why develop sat on a bench as a bit part player, when you can do that by playing first team and getting plaudits week in week out. The long term game plan by him or the club would see him stay. Only £s in his pocket would sway that.

I'm too confused and lazy to understand, does the Brennan sale count on the filing we just got nailed on or does it count for this upcoming one?
Does it matter if it's a three year rolling period they look at?

Never gave up in that first half and kept us in it. That first half was absolute chaos at times but he stuck to his job.

I think that is incredibly difficult.

Commanding ball playing CDMs aren’t common and if they are out there it’s very unlikely we would be top of mind. We stretched for Sangare and that hadn’t worked out so far. I’d suggest we try and coach and integrate him before chucking more money at it

We have money coming in for Mangala. I suspect Dominguez, Vlachula and Montiel will also be on their way. Plus some high salaries going - Divock etc. would hopefully cover any losses?

Definitely rather lose Danilo than Murillo though, we surely have to hang on to Murillo as long as possible.

I’d rather Murillo moved on than Danilo - partly because we’re likely to get far more money for him, and partly because we need more experience at the back.

I think Murillo will want to accept one of the offers he'll get from a bigger club this summer - who wouldn't.

We’ll need to sell to balance this years FFP if reports are to be believed - so that means someone going before June 30th. Realistically that means a top player with lots of admirers ie Murillo or MGW. If we get rid of Vlach, Turner etc it will be towards the end of the window.

I'd hope there is (much) more to come from Sangare, and agree we give him more time. We need an experienced head in there too though if that's to be the case - a destroyer type who can dictate tempo (as opposed to spread play) perhaps? Can't believe I'm going to say it given his broken spell at West ham but Phillips on loan?

Can’t see him being here next season, I think they’ll be too many big clubs watching him and the club will cash in.

If we do sell him our books will look the best they have in a while and we will have cash burning in a hole in our pocket so what could possibly go wrong.

If we get £15m for Mangala in June, and that sees us break even for the season, as is hinted at in the FFP points deduction decision document, we’d need to raise another £9m profit before the end of June. Though allegedly the window can be extended into July - an option we didn’t exercise for some reason last summer.

Sell to a top 6 club for big money and loan back for a year.

Mangala's loan doesn't finish until 30th June so any money from his sale (assuming it happens) won't come through until July.

I hope we can get at least another year out of him.

It'll help us balance our books in the meantime so we can maximise the profit when we eventually do sell him, and it will give him another year to acclimatise to the league and language.

He'll be at a top six club in a couple of years or playing in the Champions League in Spain or Italy.

that’s my point - whoever we are able to get is going to have some sort of downside.
Yup, though you'd imagine Nuno (or whoever) will have seen a need to freshen up the squad one way of another, and the obvious options there are Murillo, Morgan (or both) and maybe Danilo.

I guess it depends as much about the ambition of the players as the club and it's finances.

In an ideal world I'd keep them all and build on them, but as we've seen it doesn't work like that. Murillo remains the easiest to replace for me, based only on position - he'll go higher than the other two I think so it's vital if we do cash in we get maximum cash.

Completely agree on all of that.

My response was purely based on my opinion that I don’t think it’ll be easy to pick up the commanding CDM that can make up for Murillo’s qualities as well as marshalling the midfield

And I agree with you back - it will be tough, and we should persevere with Sangare to some degree, but we are going to need at least one CM, maybe even two or three depending on what happens with Dominguez (and Mangala who we are yet to replace).

Ideal world? Barkley (no chance you'd think) and Hackney (see previous if WH want). Fall back on a Phillips loan or maybe Garner at Everton if we could get him for a decent fee (unlikely), or another enforcer type to allow Danilo to thrive? Apparently the kid at Sheff U is going places... he could come to us? Really I've no idea, other than knowing we need more than we've had CM wise this year!

Agree-if we are offered big money from a top that we can’t turn down the loan back to us would seem to make sense. Although quality it would be debatable if he would be in first 11 of top team as he is so inexperienced and another season playing with Boly wud be beneficial to all.
