This is the first total break from watching and following sport I've had in years.

My head is no longer full of pointless crap and my emotional state isnt linked to something I have no control over. I like it!

Unfortunately the roads are still full of dickheads so I’m still getting my daily dose of whatthefuckareyoudoing-ary in.

Curious thing. I live alone and am retired, so lockdown is pretty much like my normal day, but funny thing is, when you can't go out, you want to!

I don't think I am either. It seems totally irrelevant at the moment.

It does. Also in the off season there is transfer news etc.. but it is all up in the air. It just shows it is all habit. I had a season ticket from 1992 - 2013 when my daughter was born and had to knock it on the head. I went from obsessively going to every game to going maybe once a season and not really missing it. But I still care about it and follow it from afar or tv or on here but it just shows how quickly you don’t miss it. When it isback on I’m sure I’ll be hooked again and it will be ruining my weekends again :nowink:

It's all about mid-table...
Money/agents/Sky ruined it years ago.

Most folks who follow it obsessively now are praying that their bets come up.

Sky Sports is getting f**ked off as soon as my contract is up. Club staff on 80% of salary and the PFA are apparently telling players to refuse a pay cut.
f*** them and the horse they rode in on.

What better time to rearrange British football?

Always thought the Scotts need to stop kidding themselves..would be great to have the chance to dick Celtic on a yearly basis.

Not going to lie this whole debacle is making me lean more left politically. Overwhelmed with the absolute greed a lot of these ***** are showing.

Let's wheel comrade jezza back out!

Not for me, why would anyone want Scottish teams playing in England

As for missing the football, I have and I haven’t.
I miss the collective thing of it, like watching the results roll in on saturdays and seeing my friends at home games. It’s normality, isn’t it?

It was mate.

Not sure it will come back in folks' hearts in the same way tbh. Yes, most people are fickle and intellectually challenged but there will be a sizeable amount of folks who'll see it for what it is after the public undressing of the ***** playing, broadcasting and running (ruining) it.

It's pretty black and white what the game as become, a greed infested self consuming business for the cancerous few.

I’ve not really been following football news so it may happened already, but I hope the structure looks after the clubs at the lower end of the pyramid.
These are tough times for the Rochdales and Port Vales of this world. Whilst it could be argued they aren’t relevant given the circumstances they are community assets and communities will need something positive to go back to when this is over.

I was looking through the TV listings on Saturday night & MOTD had a retro best goalkeepers program where the panalists debate & discuss the best ever keepers.

Turns out it was PL era only so I didn’t bother watching, couldn’t be doing with a tosser like Shearer blowing his load over Peter Schmiechal

Would’ve been a decent program if they’d bothered with the likes of Shilton, Banks, Trautman & Clemence ect

Shove the PL up yer bollocks

I listened to the first one when they went through their top ten PL strikers and thought I won't be doing that again. Is that the best they can do?

All the archives MotD have and they have Gary Lineker and chums sitting around doing their top tens. Lineker and Shearer talking is the bit everybody normally fast forwards.
