Does this mean we no longer have to see Bong in a red, or navy, red and pink shirt?

Will the highlights now comprise clips of the other team battering us from both sides, rather than solely the left, with Bong consistently way out of position?

I suppose we won’t until we face Sheffield United lol.

They probably don't see themselves as relegation rivals... yet. I do think they'll struggle though.

I do as well, Jokanovic doesn’t suit their team at all, I thought it was a crazy appointment at the time and still do, going from a Wilder team to one what suits Jokanovic is going to be very expensive.

I'm not clever enough to do the fancy graphics but thought I'd compare 'full back' data for Lowe (in 19/20) against our two FB's that season.

Decent defensive stats but absolutely mad he had more dribbles than Cash. Hoots will be buzzing about those crossing stats too

Bit like Hughton here in some respects; both are proof that there is more to appointing the right manager that past successes on a CV.

Not only is Jokanovic a very different style of manager, but they seem to have a hangover from how bad they were last season.

I don't think they will go down, but I can see them finishing lower midtable and flirting with relegation at times this season.

There's clearly an element of "That'll do" beginning to creep in. We've gone from Buchanan and the seemingly classic Dane model to someone who can probably do a job for a year. Pragmatically it probably makes sense, the last thing we want to do is go back to the bomb-boys and filling the squad with inadequate crap, but we're clearly not good enough and the squad has gaping holes so a few who can improve - even if they're not long term bets - are probably needed purely for survival. It's going to be a case of improving on Bong and not putting youngsters who don't even play that position in.

He’s probably the next Cyrus Christie figure

I'm happy enough with this. It's going to take a number of transfer windows to sort us out and I rather us loan a player with his ability than bring someone average in on a perm or spend over the odds on a player. It's about time we were a lot smarter with where we spend our money.

How many years have we been saying that now, rinse and repeat

Hughton can't wait to get his aimless clearance stat up. Otherwise, I think those are pretty good numbers and if he puts a decent ball in then that makes one at least.

Yeah, no complaints here either. I don't think Lowe is anything special, but he'll do for this season and a loan isn't going to be a financial burden for the club. It's better than signing another Gaeten Bong on a 3 year deal.

Max Lowe said: “This was an opportunity I couldn't turn down. After speaking to the manager, it was a no brainer. As a player, you get that feel and move into a club and it felt comfortable. And I'm happy to be here and get started."

At face value, another one helped over the line by Chris.

Looks cheery. If modern football's taught me anything it's that you need a sleeve tattoo to get anywhere so this has to be positive step for the club. We've been stuck in the past for too long.
