This seems strange. They must be confident they are going to attract better players to Forest. Lowe and Zinck would have been good enough squad players for the Prem.

it doesn't look very reasonable this one. i surely doubt it unless we made a bid to loan him to you. we have two young left backs. better than him and if we will take another left back it will be someone more experienced like what we did on the other side where we are signing

Of course it could just be that they did well for us and they would do well for Olympiacos.

why is Olympiacos shopping in the championship for full backs ? first , pipa from huddersfield , now lowe from sheff utd ?

Yep, that's the most likely scenario by far. The people involved in recruitment at Olympiacos will have been able to get a much better insight into Zinck / Lowe than they would for most players, and they like what they see.

I don't buy the "keeping them close in case we get relegated" theory or even "loan straight back" - it doesn't make much financial sense for either club, and no sane player is going to agree to be a pawn like that.

because their head scout spent 2 years as head scout of a championship club and we probably share scouts.

As predicted, Derby fans are crying about this on social media and are calling us cheats because Olympiacos are interested in signing a Sheffield United player. Mental gymnastics in full swing today and it's not even lunchtime. 😂

If they'd have been half as eager to stamp down on any rule bending 5 years ago as they are now, they wouldn't be facing a future in the depths of hellish nothingness.

Because our scouting looks for players in our budgetary limitations with good potential, high energy, dedication and room for improvement. We will spend bigger for other positions and not in left back where we already have two players and we can take the risk.

However, still I cannot see this happening.

Could it be a result of crossed wires, like we (Forest) use your (Olympiakos) far superior facilities for medicals etc or negotiating deals that are actually for us?

It doesn't sound like you need a left back unless.......one of your youngsters is heading our way?

We most certainly need a left back. Reabciuk is a great athlete but not good enough for our (desired) level. And his backup is a player the manager does not rate and a very talented 18-year-old.

Sheffield United have apparently turned down our offer as inadequate (a polite synonym for 'derisory'?). I wonder if you'll come back to him towards the end of the window if your other options for a bencher left back do not come through. He seems to want to leave Sheffield.

You’d think they wud have to lower price as he not wanted by them, he wants to go and they need money! If they still want 5 mill thats laughable.

This seems to have resurfaced today as Heckingbottomfeeder has been bleating on about our pathetic low offers, he's a complete and utter bellend.

I mean its not like we are trying to buy a guy who is not wanted by his current championship club having played for them a grand total of 8 times since they bought him and was also injured a fair bit throughout his loan period with us (Of the 39 league games he could have played, he missed about half due to injuries).

I like Lowe but their prick of a manager is going to do him out of the chance of playing in the Premier league.

Perhaps also its worth them remembering that they bought Jack Robinson from us for a pittance because of their Premier league status and similarly nicked Osborn for a low fee as well.

Sheffield United signed Bogle and Lowe for a combined fee of £15m.

I'm not sure which of those players was considered more valuable but Sheffield United keep banging the drum that they'd signed Lowe for much more money than whatever has been offered to them so far.

Apparently they'll accept £5m. Which doesn't seem a bad deal considering the above.
