Had Nuno been lumbered with the same keeper situation Cooper was, we'd be down for sure IMO
The wish was that Coops had better to work with than the two he ended up with.

Turner I can just about forgive enough to play a part in the squad next year (admittedly, safe in the knowledge he'll be off), Vlachedemos was unforgivably shit.

Hey ho and on we go...

Honestly, Turner needs to be nowhere near this squad next year unless whoever is our manager can be very confident in improving his gaff-factor.

The good news is he won't want to be - he'll need to be playing to keep his USA shirt.

(And in fairness I agree - decided after the Spurs f*** up, which came after several others, I never wanted to see him between the sticks again for us. We can't buy two more keepers though surely)

Sels has shone a bright light on just how crap the other two have been, particularly the Greek chap. We can't say we weren't warned, either.

I can’t see Ortega or Kelleher wanting to be second choice next season. If we able to snag either of those two (unlikely) then one of those two + Sels + Shelvey seems a very reasonable GK trio.

Otherwise we probably do need to shift both Turner and Count Vlachula off the books and recruit a youngish keeper to play second fiddle with Shelvey as 3rd choice.

I'd take Foderingham from Sheff Utd. He's not been playing recently (except today) as he refused to sign a new contract.

He's had some stick but I've always thought he's good enough to play number two at this level. Decent shout.

(I half expect us to go for kelheller or whatever his name is again tbh, if finances are right)

His best game so far and it came at the right time.

Sheff U could still have scored 2 or 3 but not for any mistakes by the keeper.

He did ping a ball straight to Hamer but then pulled a ball worldie of a save out the bag so immediate redemption

Shelvey's gone.

Turner was signed to be a no 2, but Vlachodimos turned out to be terrible, so that's why he kept his shirt until February. I'm very happy with him as a back-up.
Count Vlachula has turned out to be a proper number 2. Hopefully one that we can flush in the summer transfer window.

Happy to have him as our number 1 next season - proved he can do a job. Yes he made 1 mistake - a proper Turner kick to the Sheff Utd player, but unlike Turner he made the save. He made some good one on one saves and also some excellent saves from shots outside the box. Think he will be even better next season.

Thought I should come back to this thread, I was unimpressed when we were linked and he signed for us, I never wrote him off as I don't write players off until they've at least played for us.

He started "slow" but we were in an awful state then, now I must admit I'm ridiculously happy with him. Hopefully we can get rid of Turner and Vlach and get in a decent back up whilst earning some cash.

At least we have 1 position we do not need to worry about this summer.
