Er buy a striker and then loan to Olly, god we need another striker that can play in the 1st team, pretty please, up front we look injury prone and if our main man out, the current solution is Brennan or Wood, nope that won't be enough this season.

Of all of the South American kids we've been linked with this is the one that least excites me.

Especially if we use up vital funds & loan him to Oly.

Know absolutely nothing about this player and I really can't be arsed to look him up to see what he's about as I know we'll just think about asking about him before deciding he's 57p over what we're willing to pay.

If Olympiacos want him, they should buy him. We have enough problems to worry about (with potential FFP concerns) without spending millions on buying players for another team.

He'll sign for Palace anyway, this is most likely standard Nixon bullshit.

Why? Genuine question, I get them mixed up.
Just YouTube vids and his poor goalscoring record. Just doesn't excite me as I think we need a decent back up to Taiwo who can come straight in.

But I trust the scouting department know a hell of a lot more than me

Fair enough. I'm sure I watched his clips but they've all merged into one a little.

Mind you, not sure who's left now Chelsea and Spurs have hoovered most of them up.

I’d suspect this is a very easy story to write in order to hurry along a transfer. Given our FFP constraints until next season it’s unlikely we buy any players for Olympiacos unless there’s a significant loan fee, which I can’t see happening given their constraints also.

Tagging the Joe Worrall contract gives it credibility. I suspect that this is a strategic leak; the question is, who’s benefiting?

Botafogo have just signed Diego costa as well, so I imagine this is happening either way sooner rather than later.

Watched a highlights video. Didn't really see anything special, especially when the defenders and keepers in that league look bloody dreadful.

Presumably buying someone to loan them could help with FFP? Wouldn’t a club just need the per annum loan fee they receive to be greater than the portion of the transfer fee amortised in their accounts for that year?

Same principle as buying a fleet of vehicles and leasing them out at a profit.

That’s presumably a reason why the big clubs have loads of players loaned out all over the place?

Yes - but Olympiacos have their own FFP constraints so shelling out north of 3m euro a year + wages for a unproven brazilian striker with a less-than-impressive record in his native country seems like bad business,
