Just been on line to check my facts.
It was actually 5th round.
Mansfield lost 0-1 at home to Leicester in the QF's - who had a young Peter Shilton in goal.
Leicester lost the final against Man City that year
As a Sutton lad I was at that game which was played midweek because of a postponement for snow on the Saturday. The crowd was so big that a pitchside wall collapsed and several home supporters were injured.

It was my fifth FA Cup game that season - I went to see Sutton Town draw at Rawmarsh in the 1st Qualifying Round, and then win the replay, only to lose at at home to Matlock Town in the next round. I also went to Preston to see Forest in the Third Round - a 3-0 defeat.

Stags game at Wigan worth a watch at the moment.
Stags 1-0 up & Dale Taylor just come on for Wigan.

Stags unlucky not to take all 3 points in the end.
If they weren’t sure they could thrive in League 1 now they’ll be confident they can.

I only watched the second half but they were all over Birmingham. Should have definitely taken the 3 points.

Nice to see Stephen Mclaughlin doing well for them - picked up from the Irish league in his early 20s for a few thousand, coming up against 3rd division players that cost absurd amounts of money for that level. Jay Stansfield alone cost the Brummies a potential ÂŁ20m.

Going through a really rough patch right now, and really shat the bed tonight. 1-0 on 70 mins and the goalscorer, Boetang, gets sent off, and now losing 3-1. In a little bit of danger of being dragged into a fight after 4 defeats in a row.

Cash is King!
Unlucky today against Huddersfield. They dominated the second half but couldn’t get an equaliser.
Nige was happy with the performance.

Back-to-back wins for Stags. 3-0 at half time against Posh, and were 2-0 up in the first 10 minutes. Ended 3-0 and Posh down to ten men.

Another 2-1 victory, this time away to Stockport. They also have games in hand over most of those still above them, so play-offs still very much on.

They continue to confound my projections for this season - and long may that continue!!
