a bit of a Lampard with skill.
Lampard is a weird one.
He doesn't have the same natural gift of a Scholes, or athleticism or drive as a Gerrard, but he is such a hard-working pro. His timing is superb and he's worked so hard on particular skills like striking a ball.
If Baker can be anything like him, with an added bit of skill he'll be a top player for sure!

Maybe more of a Scholes then? I've only heard from Chelsea quotes/articles etc so assume they'd use one of their own to compare him with.
Perhaps he's the new "Baker" and has the best of all three. God knows England need a few.

Wonder how many goals Lampard would have scored in his career if he was a striker.
I don't know if it would have been as many, he's best arriving late at the edge or just inside the box. I think in the same way people wanted McGugan up top, it wouldn't have been as effective because he'd be less able to ghost in to score.
We don't need him.
Osborn/Lansbury/Reid/Tesche/Vaughan as well as U21 players. It would only annoy our current players if we brought this guy in when he's not needed.
Typical of our fans though on some threads, we sign a good player but bemoan the fact we haven't signed another! Always wanting more, that's the reason we've not done well in previous years because our squad is never allowed to settle. Fans taking the 'LET'S GET PLAYERS IN NOW' approach which Fawaz then takes to make the fans happy.
I like Pearce's approach. Careful, considered.

He definitely needs to be careful and consider how he's going to stop us entering a relegation battle that's for sure.
We are 100% lacking something in the middle of the park. Just because we have numbers it doesn't mean you don't get someone.
With how we're playing, we'd be better off going for a big nasty powerful centre-mid who wins headers and puts himself about though, as opposed to a young talented lad who wants it to feet.

Given how much we're missing Reid, I think it's just what we need. Osborn's not quite there yet and the other 3 are either deeper lying midfielders or wank.
