We could just change the thread title to ‘keeper crisis’. Neither are remotely good enough.

If we don’t sign a competent keeper we will get relegated. Thankfully Nuno was a keeper and he will know more than anyone what is required.

Spend whatever is available on a keeper as the rest of the squad is more than capable of competing in this league.
Totally agree with all of this bono, a keeper has to be top priority.

I'm with you on this.
You will never be able to build any progress with a keeper as the weak link.
Forget about buying a striker until the keeper is sorted out.
We can possibly survive without a striker but no survival without a keeper

I think we probably do need to get a new keeper in the window. We would have been fine with Turner were it not for the potential points deduction but with that hanging over us we can't really afford to be carrying keepers who are costing us goals almost every game.

Make no mistake it was Turner at fault last night for the first goal. The wall wasn't set up correctly. We could see it in the stands and predicted what Toney was going to do. Yates could see it too. I don't think Toney moving the ball had that much impact on the outcome, he had the space he needed to work with anyway.

It's a shame as I think Turner has good parts to his game. His shot stopping is pretty good and his aerial ability is definitely good. But his playing out from the back is a problem (we just need to accept he needs to kick long and if we turnover possession so be it) and stuff like setting the wall is quite basic.

Whatever happens, Vlachodomis is not the answer. He is worse than Turner in every department apart from distribution, but even his distribution is only average.

A good keeper will gain you points, we are in the postion of which keeper will loose us the least amount of points. Honestly, think we will go down this season due to points deduction, but mostly due to our incompetent recuitment - I think we deserve it as well. I have nicknamed our keepers Dumb and Dumber
More like chakademus and liars.
Both pretending to be goalkeepers 🤣

The "relegation becomes unavoidale if we don't get a decent goalie in" movement is gathering momentum.
Nuno was a decent goalie in his playing days.
Despite the public motivational support of the goalies we have, privately he knows we need a new keeper this week.
Arsenal, still smarting after losing to us last season, will put a few past any of the 4 we have on the books.
I truly fear a home defeat by 4 or 5 goals unless we can get a proper stopper in.

A lot has been made of Toney moving the ball and as much as I despise the whole 'war hero' narrative surrounding Toney, we should have been set up to defend that position.

Nuno has gone from Turner to Vach to Turner. Appreciate that Vach was bought in for the cup games, but what do you do for Bristol, go back to Vach and then back to Turner for Arsenal? It creates too much inconsistency to keep switching like this. We simply have to buy another keeper in this transfer window or get one on loan; I don't think we need to spend massive amounts to improve the situation.
Tbf other teams do rotate their keepers for the cup competitions.

If Nuno has come in with the idea that vamps plays in the cup and then Turner is first choice in the league that is in itself fine.

I guess the issue is that flip flopping between the two and dropping one when they make a mistake doesn't benefit anyone especially given that aside from the obvious confidence issues they are totally different styles, Vamps would at least suit a side playing out from the back as his passing is good.

They are all terrible keepers though and unless you're Emmo I don't think there's much argument that Turner is the best keeper at the club. With his limitations though we did have to see that Vamps wasn't better but then going back to Turner presumably didn't help.

We need to bring in another keeper and we need to do this irrespective of FFP because we will be more likely to go down with these muppets in goal and then it will cost us even more.

I can't believe the recruitment on this. From Henderson and Navas to a keeper that can't find his bearings in the 6 yard box and one that wears biscuit tins filled with concrete on his feet. What on earth was the scouting on this, they cannot in any world have been looked at properly. I genuinely wouldn't even put Turner at league 1 level

Can we have the Werder Bremen keeper please. Just watched him put in a great game against Bayern including a double save off the post neither of our keepers would have saved if it was repeated a thousand times.

In fairness my point is its not clear Turner is better. There isnt much in it if he is. However they are both turgid and I wouldnt have either if we were a championship side.
