I think the most upsetting thing about Alexander-Arnold is him wearing 66 - a stupid number. Any number above 30 is stupid, and unless you're a Cruyff or an Henry, you should surely want a number 1-11 (depending on your position). If he's going to wear a stupid number at least he could wear 7 - then we could could call him Severn Trent! See also Harry Winks choosing not to wear 40...spoil sport!
He could have least gone for 69

Can we send Ward Price back to West Spam in January?
Only if they agree to terminate his loan agreement early. The issue being that he's now played for two clubs this season and can't play for a third.

Basically they would have to see him in their squad plan for the remainder of the season for us to have any hope of him returning.

There's some talk about pacquetta possibly leaving, but even so I cant see the guy who loaned him out in the first place wanting to keep him.

Can he go to Saudi or the US due to their different league starts? Perhaps he might fancy that at this stage if games here are hard to come by which, with what we've seen and who we have returning, they will be.

Yes I believe they're the only options but can't see JWP wanting to do that. I think we've got to just consider him as ours for the remainder of the season. He's a good egg and a good pro though so at least we're not gonna have some idiot causing havoc and booting balls out of the training ground.

And he should be good enough to give one of the other midfielders a rest for the Luton game at least.

There is this to also consider. While we're in the position we are, I would imagine Nuno will be looking to rest as many first XI players as possible for the FA cup games.

It feels like a particular concern for the midfield, in my mind, as there's been less rotation there due to the absences of Danilo and Sangaré. Yates and Dom in particular play a very high energy game that means they always look knackered!

Yes, while I've never rated him at all as a player he's definitely a good egg - hopefully for him and us something good can come out of the move for all parties second half of the season... If not we'll always have Liverpool away together.

Jeez, reading this you'd think the bloke was Diakhaby levels of bad.

Fans have short memories. JWP was a big part of our win at Anfield and followed that up with decent showings at Brighton and Chelsea(despite the red). He's certainly behind the current 3 rotating around his position but he's a more than capable backup. I don't see any harm keeping him in for the rest of the season. Danilo and Sangare returns aren't imminent and Yates pulled up last weekend so you never know when he might be needed.

Personally, I'd like us to play our strongest side in that game Notch, but I can see the reasoning behind Nuno deciding not to. In which case, it will be a good opportunity to give the likes of JWP, Taiwo, Moratta and Sosa competitive gametime.

I agree, think we need all the bodies for reasons highlighted above. Plus Yates and Dom are on 4 yellows they need to get through another 3 games I think without a further booking.

I get that Otis and I'm a bit conflicted because I think we could advance deep into the FA and perhaps even have a tilt at it, especially as some PL teams have been drawn against each other in the third round.

Glad somebody else said it. The stick he gets is ridiculous and nowhere near justified.

I think he's a very decent backup option; we've certainly had worse loanees.

I also like to think he might have an influence on our dead ball takers during training sessions. As well as giving our keepers plenty of practise from decent free kicks.

Edit to add: Witneyred got there before me.

£105k per week wage... needs to be more than just a training aid.

I think most Prem teams hope for easier draws and so play a weakened team in the early rounds, leading to a stronger team as the Cup progresses.

I think if we have to keep JWP he might be very useful as you just never know what the future holds.

just looked at that post and you can see I'm in a thoughtful mood right now.

Well yes, of course. Though I did say he might have that influence on the training pitch as well as being a decent backup option. I guess I was trying to say he might well have more an impact than just on the pitch.
