This would be a huge move. Yes he’s dropped off a little but he’d add experience, leadership, set piece delivery and would really benefit others by receiving and giving the ball in those tight spaces. He’d look fantastic next to Sangare.

On one hand, I'm not sure we should be spending big money on a midfielder, especially if Danilo's injury isn't as bad as first feared.

On the other hand, JWP is a good player and instantly improves one of our biggest weaknesses attacking wise - set pieces.

Can he kick a dead ball better than all our lot combined?

Yes.

Pete O'Rourke reports that Pete O'Rourke thinks things. Fraud!

I dint like player either - he's Sammy Clingan that takes corners. Racks up numbers but does FA else. no!

Fantastic dead ball specialist but a passenger otherwise. Can we afford to carry him in the hope of more set piece goals?

waste of money for a set piece luxury. Way more cost effective to build the skills with what we’ve got

West Ham haven’t been stitched up, he’s a great player in the right team. That’s not going to be Forest

Agree. Look beyond the dead ball delivery (which doesn't actually produce that many goals statistically) and he's pretty average imo.

But the rest of the time it's like playing with 10 men.

Tricky one.
The same could have been said (and was) about many players - e.g. Britt Assombalonga - does less than 1 part of 3 parts of sod all for 89 and a half minutes in a game.
But there he was, exactly where you would want him, exactly when he was needed and BOOM in goes the winner....
