Not going to be easy to get him . Unless Man U are complete morons, they'll only loan him out, not sell.

I may have answered my own question.

Id be surprised if they wanted that much. Yes been great for us but unproven in the Prem.

It also depends on whether Garner wants to leave Man Utd permanently. That's not a given, especially for a team who isn't established in the top flight.

Think it will come down to how much ten hag likes him - if he doesn't fit his plans he'll be off, hopefully to us, if he does they may prefer a loan. Think I'm right in saying we can only loan if there's a purchase option.

Fwiw I don't think he's ready for the level United want to be at yet, maybe in four or five years? Purchase option might work if they see it the same?

I have some very good news, Sal. United may be the most moronic club in the country.

I think all parties will come together and agree he's better of elsewhere & they will want to raise funds.

They are still chasing midfielders, and the parody midfielders like McTominay, Fred & Van De Beek are still all ahead of him.

The only issue would be they might want to loan him, a normal top club like Man City, Chelsea or Liverpool would sell as there is a limited pathway & the money would help with funding transfers. But they aren't a normal club, they are run by a bunch of idiots - they are after Rabiot & Arnautovic at the minute. That sums them up.

Considering the only sources of our interest are the Daily Mail and Nottingham Post, I don't see anything in this unfortunately. I'm sure we've had conversations with United but they got the players they wanted gone who were contracted out already. Even if they signed Frenkie De Jong or now Rabiot, they're still short in central midfield and it's a 20 man squad now.

The Mail might be a rag but it's sports section is pretty good and reliable particularly for Manchester United.

Just buy him and put a buyback clause in. Man Utd are so shabbily run nowadays they will probably forget about the clause and pay 20m more a week later.

You've made a great point, Pogba for example, leaves on a free, signed back for £90m on £400k a week (Less than we pay Lingard) then leaves on a free again. If nothing else we'll make a fortune!

You've got to hand it to his agent. Good player though... for France.

The most surprising part about this is that someone spent that much on Pogba.

Pogba didn't start too badly at United on his return.

First season, won the League Cup and Europa League. Second season, United finished 2nd in the league. Third season, finished top scorer for United.

All under Mourinho, who he and other players were clashing with apparently. Solskjaer came in and he just looked like he couldn't be arsed.

He played his best football at Juve under Conte and Allegri. As a strong character himself, it tells you he needs discipline. If United had a backbone and had trusted and valued Mourinho more over their record signing, they might have a better team right now.

Nottingham's dirty secret
Him & Yatesy were perfect for us. His calm head is needed soooooo badly.

We need to get as much of the band back together as possible. Recreate that incredible spirit. If it means slightly over-paying for Garner & Davies then so be it.

Agree. That spirit is so important. What we created last season.

It was only the first game, but it felt a bit dull in comparison.

Need to get some of those spirited players back who felt part of the project and drove it forward together.
