Fixture Changes

The late kick off on either day is going to be a pig when leaving the stadium.
Let's say it finishes at 7:30. Then 30 minutes to get out and onto a train from Falmer to Brighton. Then a train from Brighton to London Victoria is 2 hours. Then through London and back upto the midlands. It's gonna be past midnight for those who train it.

Ha ha...you jest. Last train from St Pancras to Nottingham leaves at 21.35 on a Saturday, 22.00 from Kings Cross to Grantham/Newark.

You aren't doing it by train if its a teatime/evening ko.

And from what I’ve heard 30 minutes to be in the train from Falmer is optimistic. That said, Brighton to London should be more like 1 hour than 2 (it’s only 50-odd miles).

Should be, but when there's engineering works then be about 2. .

Anyway: can go on the piss with Nuno - Saturday night: sleep in a beech hut or similar, and then be journeying back on the train on the Sunday!

Indeed, there are hotels in Brighton lol

The rail works planned means no direct trains via the usual routes into Lewes or Brighton.

There's rail replacement from Three Bridges which is taking journey times to 2 hours 45 minutes from London

A better option is to go via Worthing which is around two hours into Brighton.

Then into Falmer. Journey time from Brighton to Falmer is short. But it can take 30 minutes to get from the stadium to the train. So it will be a good three hours to get from the stadium to Kings X / St Pancras

It sounds like whatever day the game is on, it's going to be an absolute pig logistically unless you're maybe on a coach that can park on-site.

If I get a ticket I'm not even considering the train.

When do we find out when this is getting scheduled? Last round they put out the televised matches 2 days after the Exeter win.

I think tickets will be announced by the end of this week. 3 weeks is the norm for most away games.

Supposed to be announced already

There's a conflict between the FA , the PL and the TV companies

All the FAC ties have at least one team that is due to play in the PL on the Tuesday. So nobody wants to play on the Sunday.

Pl have announced the TV games for midweel including us - so don't want to move fixtures.

They can't play fixtures on the Friday because of the internatiional break.

It's a mess

It must be screwing with the heads to have so few "big teams" to prioritise.

A random idea would be to play all 4 games at 3.00 Saturday. Can't see that taking off.

They could do it at say 3pm Sunday and televise them all. Would probably be better than Saturday because of that lame black out.

If at least one team per game is playing on the Tuesday, and it's the international break leading up to that weekend, it's logical to have all games on the Saturday with one as the lunchtime kick off, one at 3pm, one at 5.30pm and one at 7.30pm.

Or, play them all at bloody 3pm but that won't happen due to TV.

Our game on Tue is the only one on telly and it's against Utd so that's not getting moved.

With big 6 bias, watch our Cup QF get scheduled for late on the Sunday now.

County are at home on the Wednesday 2nd with our game a tv game vs Utd I cannot see the Utd game getting moved as it means moving County as well so I think we will be Saturday lunchtime or evening.

They’ve started selling tickets to members now for the Man United game so obviously they can’t move that at all.
The 4 games will have to be spread over the Saturday with BBC and ITV trying their best to annoy travelling fans with the most obscure night time slot so it doesn’t clash with Gladiators or You Bet or whatever tosh they show these days.

If the transport wasn't so awful and it kicked off at a reasonable time I'd be interested in going on the train from Bedford. Since neither of those things are true I will be watching on TV.
