Financial Fair Play (FFP)

The other thing to take from this, once we get into July that ugly 40mil number from 21/22 goes.

And therefore by somehow being compliant at 30 June 2024, we would be in a great position to ‘recruit’ during July/August.

Need to get creative in the next 6 weeks. How much can we get for Worrall from a promoted team for example.

Yes - if we stay up this season we’re into our third PL season - so allowable losses for the 3 years goes up to 3 x £35m = £105m?

Can we revalue the squad value?
Accounting Standards allow for assets to revalued to reflect current values rather than historic cost.
MGW cost £30 - £40m and is now worth £70m.
Murillo cost £12m and is now worth £60m
Revaluation gain reflects the coaching input, which comes at a cost, therefore the increase in value is a profit, and profit is the entrepreneur’s reward for taking an investment risk.
FFP problems solved, no players need to be sold.
I do declare I am a FFFG (Football Fince f***ing Genius)

Sale and one-season loan-back could work well all round
I've read this a couple of times - I dislike loan backs anyway, but particularly in this case where we'd see his value continue to rise while not being ours. And it's not as if he isn't in a replaceable position.

The only way I'd entertain it is if a buying club was top level (as in top 3 our league, Real or Barca) and we're paying tip top dollar... won't happen just yet.

Keep him another year or two and then talk.

Doesnt that mean there's a very small window at midnight on 30th June where we are not compliant but not at the deadline, and suddenly 1 second later we knock off 40M from the calculation and are compliant without selling ?

Dunno how much Olympiakos have left in their FFP allowance this season but within the regulations could they just straight up loan us, say, £10m in June, so we clear FFP and then us just pay it back in July, so it goes in next seasons figures, where we have a bigger limit?

Seems no more dodgy than Chelsea’s shenanigans. Also pretty sure Bournemouth received a £71m loan from a subsidiary and this was fine.

How does it work with the Johnson money then? Our main defense against PSR deductions was that Johnson should be including in the previous year's accounts because of 'compliance' and 'communication' with the PL. Now that the Brennan argument has been thrown out that £47m or whatever it was goes into this year's accounts...I think.

Doesn't really matter for next year as it's still part of the three year cycle regardless.

It coming into this year does help us the year after next, though.

And we are then going to see a transition in the rules.

We might just say f*** it and try to blag our way out again, risking a double jeopardy 2 point deduction. Precedent has been set there.

Apparently not according to those who 'write' the rulebook.

(I say write, they just make the f***ers up so it fits with whatever bollocks they decide that week.)

I'd like to think the club have learned a thing or two through this process... We'll be fine.

When one reads about City Football Group (especially this year with Girona) and the Chelsea shenanigans one simply can't feel confident in the governing parties of Football. Sigh, oh well.

That's a heck of amount of profit we need to come up with in the next few weeks.

It screams hasty Murillo sale.
I don't know where I've got this from but I thought it was almost a fact that we'd only be keeping Murillo for a season when we bought him?
Even dreamed up that Omobamidele was signed as a kind of understudy gor when he's gone.
My heads a fukcing shed!

It’s grotesque beyond belief that Man City will get multiple back slaps from Sky and BBC if they win the league. If the charges eventually are heard and upheld, as well as relegation to the National League, will they have to pay back the 10 years of prize money?

Everyone should simply refuse to play them next season
