Quick browse of some Newcastle forums (as I don't know much about Anderson to be honest) and a few seem to be of the opinion that he showed some promise but injuries have stalled his progress. If he is coming here, I hope those injury problems are behind him.Setting aside the Elanga swap part, Anderson is a very good player. Reminds me of Ross Barkley . Excellent in the air too.
Had a goal controversially ruled out against us when they beat us 2-1 at the CG.Quick browse of some Newcastle forums (as I don't know much about Anderson to be honest) and a few seem to be of the opinion that he showed some promise but injuries have stalled his progress. Yep he’s Mint.Percy saying Minteh is also a possibility in a swap. Highly rated Gambian winger who they were trying to sell for £40m.
Anyone know much of him?

Sounds like the fee they agreed with Lyon was £27.5m and not the 40m.Who owns Lyon?
God?
If this is a way to get Newcastle out of their £30M PSR hole then it would make sense to inflate Anderson’s value to the £30M and we get Minteh for a cut price £15-20M post July.Interesting on Anderson - very little goal output but is highly rated. His xG for last season is pretty poor too - 1.4xG from 1024 minutes in 21 appearances doesn’t strike me as a player that replaces Elangas goal contributions. However, you might have said the exact same thing about Elanga when he came to us last summer.
Perhaps we’re weighing if we sell CHO or Elanga and this deal makes the most sense for us?
Elanga will almost certainly be valued at around £30-35m, imo his value has doubled since he came to us as he’s proven he can do the business in the prem outside of Man U.
I’d hazard a guess that Anderson would be valued at £15-£20m the other way, meaning both clubs get to book the same amount of profit across PSR for FY23/24 - and we hope we can basically do the same thing with Anderson that we did with Elanga.
The more I think about it, the less I hate it

You spelt „absolute f***ing bullshit” wrong.I can’t wait to talk about football and not commercial constructs, this is so painful
I suspect we've asked about him - see the Brum lad also - and they've come back to ask about including Elanga.Good player, one that you'd hope to add to a squad including Elanga not instead of.
Unsure he would leave his hometown club and the richest club in the world, in truth if its being discussed it demonstrates the ridiculousness of psr.

Only makes sense if we don't want Elanga. If I had Gordon on one wing I'd want Elanga on the other though...Or, Newcastle are trying to get out their PSR hole and this deal makes sense for all parties if they’re gonna pay over the odds to Elanga in return for an immediate £30m fee on Anderson.

True, though I prefer the one where we keep Elanga - they'd need to pay silly money toske it work.Every player has a price. If Newcastle are willing to part with 45-50m for Elanga and we pay 30 for Anderson, which means we can solve PSR this and next season without selling Murillo or MGW and get an immediate replacement for Elanga; then that is a deal that suits everyone.
