Its remarkable that he's been quite so candid about his opinions! He's got something like 4 years left on his United deal and maybe it was actually him pushing for the loan with an agreement to buy option. Not sure if him speaking out was the best idea, maybe a lack of maturity but ultimately if things go great or poorly this year he will still be an employee of theirs.
It seems like he's burned his bridges but potentially prematurely. He seems to think he's lost a year of game time but he's still only 25 which for a keeper is young, he could have another 15 years at the top.
Also without wishing to be disrespectful, DeGea was one of Man Us better performers last season, I think if they were going to drop him that they'd look to buy an expensive replacement.

United wasted a year of both Lingard and Henderson's careers. As football is a short career, losing a year is always a terrible thing. Can't blame either of them for being unhappy with United, especially if they were promised game time and refused moves elsewhere.

A lot of these pundits are forgetting that there were several other instances of players/agents leaking information to the press whereby Man Utd exhibited the same behaviours towards players.
Numerous players said that they had conversations with the manager/hierarchy at United and were told certain things and made assurances only to be reneged, the player met with silence in person and worst of all then fabricated an alternative reality of the situation publicly to create a negative and false perception of the player whilst scrambling to cover their ineptitude.
Henderson saw this all play out whilst having his own issue and will know exactly how it will spun when United inevitably get asked about him. He wanted out and he's taken the prime opportunity to ensure he gives a personal account to the cameras before United had any opportunity.
He is beyond giving two fucks what United think. He's never going back and he's obviously delighted to have someone like Coops who has integrity, honesty and a genuine caring figure towards his staff.

Yep, seems like a good egg who is keen to play and do well, when it would be easier to just coast by at Man United picking up a nice pay packet on the bench without saying a word. We are very good at recruiting players with the right character nowadays, and Dean looks like another good addition in that regard.

Exactly. Lots of football fans (not just Forest fans) complain about players picking up massive salaries and not doing enough to justify it. Here we have the opposite; a lad who is determined to prove his worth, to the point of even publicly speaking out against his parent club for not giving him the game time they promised him (and I am sure Henderson is aware of the consequences of that).

I listened to the interview and although its nice to hear he wants to play i just found myself thinking he is just another self indulgent self righteous i want all my way i'm the most important woke snowflake who really hasn't got a grip on reality and real life. He says it was the worst year of his life and criminal while being paid more money than God , "oh woe is me" well Boo fecking Hoo grow up you self centred moron real people out there are really struggling to make ends meet in the real world, stay in your bubble and shut your trap. Good advice i think!
