Yeah likewise, did 3 ligaments in my ankle and although I was walking again within a month they never healed properly and my gait/step on my right leg has been dreadful since.

That was the last competitive game of football I played.
I'm similar, in a match I fractured my ankle in 2 places and never been right since. This was 5 years ago!

The bone heals relatively quickly but the damage done to ligaments can last seemingly forever. Suppose the difference is Danilo has round the clock access to a team of expert physiotherapists whereas I waited 6 months to see an NHS physio who told me to stretch my hamstrings more to help my ankle.

When I tore my ankle ligaments playing squash, the physio at Notts Cricket Club treated me.
She said "You'll be wishing it was a broken ankle - you would be back playing a lot sooner".
After the ligaments had healed and she said I could start to engage with training and sport, every time I pushed the ankle a little bit too hard, it swelled up and I had to rest it again... I reckon it took fully 6-months before I didn't get discomfort and swelling after doing a work out.
Thats something I've heard.
Torn ankle ligaments in both ankles. This was 20 years ago. Still get pain in them now, although, thats probably because I'm fat and lazy as well.

Even with the healing hands of modern medicine, he's not coming back from that in 6-8 weeks. I'd be surprised if back on the grass before next year.

From the sounds of it it's not the worst case scenario, but I hope he gets all the time he needs however long that has to be. These things are always a journey and have bumps in the road. It's cruel, the incident looked innocuous and yet his Monday morning will be feeling so different to what it might have been.

Danilo will be back for our home game against WHU 2nd november........mark my words!
Highly doubt that and to be honest, being someone who has suffered a similar injury I'm not sure I'd want him back that soon.

January at the absolute earliest for me. Probably a game in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

Very pleased if that is the case. I was fearing that Danilo would be out for most, if not all, of the remainder of the season.

Tails was in FF podcast today-he said 2 months has been mentioned but that 3 months seems more realistic. Paul Anderson also added that years ago muscle wastage was an issue with breaks but with the progress of technology and science this can be reduced whist other parts of leg need rest/setting etc.

To be fair, the man himself has said he was ok and would be back soon so the 6-8 weeks comment by some journo might end up being about right.

I'll be pleased to see him even on the bench when I open the first day of the event calendar that I'm about 30 years too old for.

So pleased it's not as bad as first feared. Fortunately we sufficient depth so we won't need to rush him back either.
