I would sign him but his desire to hit the deck really annoys me. Somehow in Yatesy I accept this quality but with Ben I just think he could do so much better. He’s got the talent. Fond mems of his time at WFCG.
I think Brian Clough would have turned Ben Brereton into a top striker.

A striker celebrates scoring a goal 👏
I have no problem with him celebrating his goal. He could’ve gone in front of his own supporters, stripped naked, and done cartwheels for all I care.

However he chose to stand in front of the Forest end, looking directly and only at us, kiss his (on loan) badge, and gesture his total and utter contempt for us.

Why people are yearning to have him back after that is beyond me.

No problem with him. He scored a Premier League goal and celebrated it. Big deal.

In previous matches where he’s played us he’s had some unnecessary abuse too

I think if you come through the youth team and first team then move on, both the fans and player should show some mutual respect. I would be a bit peeved if BJ did a provocative celebration in front of us and likewise never really understood why some fans abuse former players. At the end of the day, players move on and its not within in the control of the fans. Maybe if you feel the need to shout abit of abuse then focus on the agents!

I'm angry at him trying to con the referee for Yatseys goal. Goes down like a sack of sh*t and if you look at him on the ground after the 'challenge' he doesn't react, but goes mental when the ball ends up in the net.

He always spent more time on his ar*e when he was here so he hasn't changed that aspect of his game. It's a no from me.

Made a twat of himself with his celebration but anyone saying he was shit is being dishonest, he was dropping deep and causing us all kinds of problems until we changed shape to address it

He's a good player and if he was available we would be stupid to at least not look at him.

However, with our transfer policy we're more likely to ignore a £15m player who has demonstrated he can score goals at this level in a struggling team and spend £25m on a pile of shite because they once played for Manure, City, Arsenal or Chelsea and has a goal scoring record of 1 goal in every 23 games.

No ones yearning to have him back, we just see that his a decent striker and he has skills that we need at the moment and we could probably get him at a decent price.

I think you may read to much into situations. Also as supporters we call into question why wolves fans hate MGW when he does the same thing. Me personally if johnson scored against us and celebrated, I would not care, I just don't see the offence in it.

That’s the point for me. I think we are crying out for someone pacey that’s a sub. I think he could play inside forward it up front. I think off the bench for the wing and striker role he’s a much better option than Origi and Reyna. Crucially we could get him for a decent price. I reckon we can get for less than 10 mill so I just think it would be a tidy piece of business.

Mangala price out was a huge profit, if sangare comes good, will see a step up in.
Big if, and you can rarely afford to throw a year away transitioning on £30m players.

Waiting for young players to develop from the academy, or who you bought for a relatively small amount like CHO? fine.

Waiting for big money, peak-age signings to take over a year to become remotely useful? Keep doing that and the only way is down.

It was a bad, bad, bad move. Even if it somehow works out, if we keep operating like that we're going down in an up and coming season. We need to be better.

Given the choice would people prefer someone like Elijah Adebayo or BBD? Both similar age and performed ok in terrible teams. (btw, i dont know why this message is in bold)

Origi has been an expensive mistake - done his career propects no good at all, unless Saudi Arabia want him.
Reyna - came with a big reputation and probably a big price tag, but we are already a "little" team in terms of physical stature, and even if we could afford him and outcompete others who might want him, Idon't think he would be an asset.
However, he is young... but he wouldn't be a priority for me.

Reyna is clearly a good footballer but I'm not convinced by his workrate. Good back up for Morgan and cover on the left for not much outlay? Maybe, but not going to do his career much good.

Bloody hell give him a break - no way would I expect someone like BJ to celebrate in front of Forest fans as he is a Forest fan but BBD was born in Stoke, was in Man Utds youth set-up then went back to Stoke before coming to us - he really seemed to be doing well and then we let him go on loan to Blackburn and sold him for only around 7m which I always though seem a bit rum. I wonder if there was a bust-up behind the scenes so he may well have left under a cloud - but whatever the reasons he's perfectly entitled to celebrate a goal

Maybe the idea was to see how he would fit in if the likes of Newcastle come sniffing around for MGW in the Summer. If MGW does not move on then I would look at other options or prioritize the areas where we are completely pants.

Yeah, I think it was partly that and partly who Mendes could pull strings to get for his mate in order to add depth.

The Riberio signing is probably similar but with a bit more forward planning involved, in that he's clearly never been one for now. Expect us to exercise that option as he's impressed enough behind the scenes to have earned enough trust to get in the squad and on the pitch at 18.
