Stuart Pearce
Saturday 16 July, kick-off 5:30pm.
As a resident within a goalkick of the ground it's advisable for anyone attending or thinking of going to the match against Barnsley on Saturday.
I know quite a few people haven't received their tickets for Barnsley. As posted in some replies yesterday, I live locally to Oakwell and know that they are usually happy to print duplicates due to unreserved seating. Barnsley FC have now confirmed
Visiting supporters can collect pre-ordered tickets and duplicates from the home Box Office situated in the South Stand. We will have a collection point directly outside the box office from 3pm onwards.
Also please note that there is a large scale event on around lease and a number of roa closures in place around Barnsley Town Centre due to the 'Barnsley's Big Weekend' event
It's advisable to arrive early, and it happens to be the open day for Barnsley FC so there are plenty of Beer and fan zones, bands and lots for the kids to do at the indoor academy adjacent to the ground.
Additional info for away supporters:
Entry via the Barry Murphy North Stand - Visitors' Stand
Turnstiles 46, 47, 48 & 49 – pre-bought tickets
Turnstile 44 – cash on entry £10 adults £5 concessions
Please don't expect to get away quickly either, The Council and Police are notorious for their full blown militant road and traffic operations which are in place prior to the end of the game. It's an absolute ****fuckery of a thing and not a single to resident has seen any effect other than to make things 1000x worse and piss every person off within 5 miles.
You will be made to sit in your cars and will not be able to move at all until they manage to get all official coaches away and out of their operation radius. This alone will be 20 mins before moving.
Keep it under your hats but knowing the areas where you can park and be allowed to make a getaway then I would without doubt head to This address where there is a Wickes and Aldi located. I'd then get your satnav to take you back via J36 M1 rather than trying to get on at usual 37
