Any loan where he plays regularly would be good for him. But only once we have some actual cover as we will not be able to fill the bench if we lose one or two.
Blimey this didn't age well did it.... I mean right at the time but just 11 days later .....

Ipswich should piss that league, anything other than that is a failure

Ay? That aged perfectly, said he needed a loan when we get in cover and not before, we got cover in and he may be going on loan? It's literally exactly what he said lol

That was my point I said he was right but I was referring to the fact that in just 11 days we'd gone from is there enough depth on the bench to it arriving by the boatload which was unexpected

You said his comment aged badly. That's used when something is drastically wrong, although tbf his comment can't age badly unless Mighten stayed and tore the league a new one.

Or dramatically different - but as I say my comment was not about Mighten but at the time it was referencing a bench not being or needing strengthening and how different it was so quickly. Anyway whatever its a small hill but the most important thing is he gets the breaks he needs and its the making of him.

Ipswich on loan makes sense. I'd rather him go to League One and play each week than go to the Championship and just be part of the squad like he was for us last season. To be honest at his age I would've expected this move to have already happened and his development to be a bit further on.

There's no substitute for proper games, you can play all the u23 you want but it's not competitive. In fact I'd prefer a player to go to non-league over playing u23 football. Young players need to understand what it is like playing against others whose careers are on the line, in front of supporters who will give you flak where proper points are at stake.

That's a better loan for him than Ipswich.

Hi all, new here.

I’m a Hearts fan from up north, and without jumping the gun too much I’d quite like to get some comments from you folks on Mighten. What would he bring to our team, any weaknesses etc?

We’re hopefully playing Europa League group stage football this year depending on a 2nd leg result on Thursday and conference league groups at the very worst, so without the usual Scottish game stereotypes coming out I personally hope it would be a fruitful loan spell with this sort of exposure for the lad.

Best of luck for the season ahead, some start and some outstanding signings you’ve made thus far!

He's a bit lightweight (despite having bulked up a bit during the off season), but has a bit of pace and skill. The general consensus is that he need to grow a bit of hair on his chest.

Very exciting prospect - people forget how young he is. Ability to beat several players, he’s got stronger this year and likely to improve with more game time.

I find Mighten to be a curate's egg, what exactly is he as a player ... is he a striker or a winger somewhere in between and how do you get the best out of him?

He has pace and some skill but has shown little in the way of end product. As mentioned as well he's not exactly robust, so while he is quick a nudge and its all over.

Interesting comments, thanks guys.

One thing he will be guaranteed is game time for us, partly due to his qualities and partly due to the number of games pre and post World Cup we have scheduled in.
Well best of luck to you and him if it comes off - hope we both benefit in the long term.

Nice to hear from a Jambo on here. They were the first team I supported before I moved from Gilmerton to Nottingham aged 7. Favourite player was Jimmy Jefferies.
As the others have said, he’s mostly played in advanced wide positions, picks the ball up in good areas and likes to attack the defender quickly, often burning people up for pace. However I’ve often seen the better defenders usher him away from danger. The problem for me is the end product isn’t consistent enough, there’s a flurry of action then it’s as though he forgets he’s got to produce something - a bit of tunnel vision I think. But there have been one or two moments of real magic. He needs this loan move badly and he really needs to develop his game and build confidence. Hope he goes to Tynecastle. Good luck Glorious Hearts.

Hes quick and can dribble and beat a player. When hes had enough matches under his belt and is "in the groove" he also got a shot on him.
Talented young winger who just needs someone to throw him into a first team and both believe in him and give him a chance.
My guess is he'll take 5-10 games to really get going for you but if you give him that chance you will have a player with the sort of quality that isn't common in Scotland over recent years...

As others have said, he has pace, tricky feet and has bulked up allot recently (see this goal https://fb.watch/f3Xv3dLa8-/), however his issues have always been in the final third, his crosses and finishing need to be improved, however with game time I'm sure this will happen.

He's got a high ceiling, but he needs game time to reach it.

Another Hearts fan here and going by the reports up here it seems like we are definitely interested in him and might land him. I know our game gets a bad re down south, but there are some tough games up here that have helped some players develop. We had Simms from Everton last season who has now started well at Sunderland and James Maddison had a spell at Aberdeen before breaking through at Leicester. Hopefully if he comes he does well, we probably lack some cover in the wide areas with a player that has some quality. If he does come no doubt will do the lad the world of good to get 30+ games including some experience of playing in Europe.
