He might be better off actually getting his players to take some responsibility on the pitch.
There's no doubt that some do, in fact, I'd say some try too hard. MGW, on his off days, is usually trying to do everything on his own, probably frustrated at the rest. He needs a fit Elanga to provide balance and a threat on both flanks.

And as much as I don't want to point the finger at individuals. You have to think if we'd had Sels in goal from the beginning instead of Turner/Vlachodimos we'd be at least a few points better off.
This really is what it boils down to for me.

Had Cooper started the season with a decent keeper instead of two which reveled in gifting points away, I think we'd be far more comfortable now.

Very sad that a great manager copped the blame for recruitment incompetence again.

I think the general feeling is that referees aren't giving penalties because they know that VAR is there to correct them. What we'll see is that the ref will give them against us and not for us and VAR will correct nothing.
Yes, but he gave a decision that Young played the ball when he could have just ignored it. Three of the biggest errors against us this season - this one, Boly and Liverpool - came from refs making incorrect decisions.

Just drop the Cooper thing for god's sake, he's gone, get over it.
He wasn't great at all, he was good and he was lucky as hell to get us promoted for which I will always be grateful.
We were lucky to get to Wembley via a shit show semi against Sheff U when Brice saved us, God bless him.
We were lucky in the final when at least one penalty decision went our way.
Cooper is not a Prem manager, perhaps that's why he hasn't been snapped up yet?

Alf does not drop things. They get replaced. In time.

Billy Davies was replaced by Steve Cooper. That kind of in time.

You'll get used to it.

Cooper took us from bottom of the table to promotion in one season, something never done before.

Cooper kept us up last season when Leeds (3 seasons in the prem), Southampton (11 seasons in the prem) and Leicester (9 seasons in the prem) were our competition, that's not including Everton who have never been relegated from the prem.

We are close to going down competing with Burnley, Luton and Sheffield United all recently promoted and we are supposed to have a much better squad this season due to "ambition". Perhaps instead of telling people to go support someone else you should stop being so ungrateful to the man who got us to the prem and kept us here against the odds.

Steve Cooper gave me the third greatest moment in my 47 years following Nottingham Forest, so to be honest, I am going to cut him a bit of slack.

Sincerely - I think it's an important role he plays.

Even if just one self-harmer changes their outlook as a result of his regular reminders, then in my opinion, it is a job worthwhile and in some small part, I like to think it benefits the club.

I for one, as with the BD posts, will never get bored of reading them!!

Yes, the refereeing decisions have repeatedly f**ked us over. But I fear we’ve made a crucial error in letting this ‘woe is me’ victim mentality permeate the club and dressing room.

The whole season has just been a complete PR disaster. We’ve had already had enough noise around the club to distract the players all year. Then within the last two weeks - ahead of crunch time for the season where focus and togetherness are crucial - we’ve created a shambles around season tickets and launched a war with the prem/refs.

It’s the timing.

4 games left, we’ve got a f*cking job to do here. It’s about time we turned up, focused on the football and showed some bollocks like we did against Newcastle and Man United earlier this season.

I've firmly nailed my colours to the mast in favour of Nuno should the worst happen, but if as a consequence he does move on, given EM's history as the owner of Olympiacos in terms of reappointing managers (as well as bringing George Syrianos back here in a higher profile role), I genuinely wouldn't be shocked if he asked Steve Cooper the question again. I definitely would be shocked however if Steve responded positively.

Can I ask what outlook are self harmers( I do not even know what this means) meant to change? If it is about Billy Davies then he was a failure( definition of failure he did not get us promoted)and divided the fan base in his second term. The last successful manager before Coops was Calderwood. If it is about Coops then I am you will find 99.99% of supporters loved him and are devastated that his reign ended. Again I am pretty certain that 99.99% of posters do not need reminding of his contribution to our great club. Maybe he will make a return as he alluded to in his final statement and all of us would welcome him back.
in the meantime and as I and my family/friends have always done is to throw our wholehearted support behind the club and the manager, incessant sniping does nothing to lift the morale of the fan base. I fully realise that the season cards and PSR situation are negatives, but there is nothing I can do about that. What we can do is generate the atmosphere at the WFCG and away that can secure us the points we need, while I have not fallen in love with the PL we are now a member of I would rather stay in and let our maverick owner try and make some changes to what is a broken business model.
I cannot influence the club on this forum but I am probably boring MM and TC to death with daily emails regarding season tickets and other issues, it is not difficult to work out their email addresses and I am adding Bell to my list this week. I would be fairly certain that no posts on this forum benefit the club but maybe a concerted number of emails clogging up their inbox might?

What our entire season might boil down to is whether Nuno can outmanage Kompany on the last day.
We know that Kompany won’t change his style so they are predictable. Nuno will need to balance the defence and counter attack in the way he did at Newcastle.

Sadly we seem to be seeing less and less performances like that and more tepid shite.

Being a realist we have terrible form both away and in any make or break situation. Taking my Forest hat off We don’t have much fight so going away to Burnley ‘winner stays up’ I can’t see us rising to the challenge.
