The extra £90m (the difference between a year of PL revenue and a year of parachute payments) is already spent. We've got to pay a years worth of the amortised £250m odd we've spent plus whatever the wage bill is. Combination of both will be fast on excess of £90, and so even with Mangala and Johnson money the prospect of still making a loss is possible, maybe probable.

Worth noting our loss allowance will grow by £18m next season too.
If PSR changes next season then it won't be subject to the same loss allowances.

Forest have probably spent that at Richer Sounds, this season alone, replacing tellies.

Will the change in PSR calculations be applied to this season's financial returns?
I doubt it will.
It will still be the 3-year rolling average FFP loss per annum that will determine compliance or non-complaince.
To do otherwise will bring howls of derision and calls for the EPL to go f*** themselves as clubs will have set out their finances on the basis of the known rules as at the start of the season.
To retrospecively say the new rules apply to this season would not be equitable.

I'm sure we'll sell him. Suits all parties.
Maybe maybe not. the media seem to be doing it's best to sell our best players.
the club have not said they are selling anyone. the media puts big ideas into players heads as well.
maybe selling 2 for 100mill wil save the club financialy, but if 2 players out of the team screws us up,
then the rest must be crap. at the moment we will stay up.....as long as they don't appeal and get more points docked.

Danilo looked like he was going to be a top drawer player, and still might, but has stalled a bit this season for one reason or another.

Murillo will have to be sold fairly sharpish and at a discount by the look of it. He only ever looked like a quick profit signing and although well scouted, few could have confidently expected his level of progress this season.

Few will be happy to see it happen, but it looks like this summer's inevitable sale, as we now know exactly what happens if we don't comply with the PSR thresholds on time, regardless of their fairness or pending replacement. He'll likely leave at a discount to what we'd like, but probably for far more than anyone would originally have hoped.

I reckon we are better off keeping both MGW and Murillo, falling foul of the regs and soaking up a 6 point deduction next year. If we can keep and add to our best players - we should be a bit more established and might be in a much better place to survive, even with a 6 or 9 point deduction.

With 3 of the 4 worse premier league teams ever we were in a relegation scrap before we lost 4 points. Stronger league next year and you think we will be 9 points clear, no chance.

It would be a huge risk, that is true.

But we already know Leicester are likely to get a deduction. Quite possible others might do so too. If we stay up it will be interesting to see whether others decide to take a tactical risk on overspending to maintain a stronger squad and hope to survive the penalty.

And don't be so sure that the league will be loads stronger next year - Burnley looked great in the Championship but couldn't cut it in the EPL.

Yeah Leicester have similar issues to us, Farke at Leeds is proven at grinding out promotions to the premier league, less so when his teams actually get there, Ipswich lack any experience as far as I can tell, Southampton might not make it at all, and there’s always the possibility of someone random like Preston sneaking in and pulling off a late miracle.

That’s not to say it’s going to be easy whoever makes it, or we should blithely stumble into another points deduction mind you.

Isn't he on a 6 year deal? He might have changed agents and got designs on pastures new but we sell him when we want to and approaching figures of 60m at least not at a cut price 35m at the end of June.

If we need to overcome the PSR hurdle, there should be plenty of other fodder we can get rid of, Dennis/obrien/Bowler/Richards/a GK plus the Mangala sale etc.

The projection was 15 to 18m over the allowed figure if I remember correctly. Time to be more clever in other ways to attract some revenue.

Rather keep this squad and not try to perform another mini rebuild for one window at least.

Would the fees that we could get for any of that lot even offset the amortisation left on what we paid for them?
Perhaps not but if we could break even in then it does reduce the total amortisation cost.

I think it's more likely that creative ways to increase revenue will be ticket price increases and maybe the club selling three or five year season tickets.

He's just changed agents so he's probably off and like you say it's not the worst thing to happen. He's more suited to a front foot top end team, whereas we need somebody more solid. That's not to say we can't negotiate to get him back on a season loan if we stay up.

I hope we can use a portion of the money to find a younger Boly.

Who cares, if we avoid relegation no manager is playing them anyway. If we can get approaching 20m out of that lot then job done.

We terminated Shelvey's contract because someone didn't realise the max number of loans they could have put out at the time.

Rather make a loss on those who are never going to put on a jersey than sell one of your prize arrests and spend 3/4 of a season hoping to 'gel' the team again.
