I think they're sailing so close to administration personally and it wouldn't surprise me if they possibly are and that the players have been told based upon tonight's performance.
I reckon they'll find a way to delay until Monday 20 May then get into administration as soon as the season is over. Probably survive by a point or so, then take 9 points next year and survive again.

The Everton situation (and Sheffield United too, and Bournemouth) all give the EPL reasons to impose draconian financial regulation in order to provide protection for fans from ego-maniac and corrupt owners.
It is just a shame that what they have done is equally corrupt, poorly drafted, and highly subjective in its application.
"Normal" businesses owners are rewarded for taking risk by the profit their investment returns.
They also take the risk of a total loss of investment if their decisions are unsound.
Football wasn't a "normal" business though, as the clubs grew up in the heart of the communities where the teams are based.
Sadly, that community business style has been eroded considerably by the money and the greed.

Well, except for when you have to be in compliance with the arbitrary financial rules... oh wait, apples and tangelos.
Did you know

(Q. Are tangelos healthier than oranges?)

A. Oranges have much more vitamin A than oranges, but oranges have fewer calories and more vitamin C and fibre. They’re both high in minerals and vitamins, including thiamin, folate, and potassium.

It must be true as it's on the internet and will be picked up and amplified by AI! 😁

Interesting piece on the Chelsea hotel sale. It turns out that it hasn't been approved by the PL for PSR yet.

Begs the question why Everton were charged with the issues surrounding the interest charges but they haven't charged Chelsea.

This mess just keeps getting messier.

Ah, maybe they’re just waiting on an envelope ending up on the right desk, or something?

Allegedly of course.

Also in this discussion was the possibility that appeal outcomes may result in fractions of points.
The mind boggles!

They could dock Chelsea ten points and it wouldn't make much difference to them this season anyway. Except they might not have the inconvenience of playing in the Europa Conference League next season.

Still waiting...
You have to give the PL the benefit of the doubt; it was a hideously overworked tortoise they used to deliver the financial reports.

It does cause a major issue with regards to next years account (23/24) as well though if this isn't ratified by the PL. This would place them hundreds of millions over in PSR terms. Clearly their intention would have been to put through another asset sale to try and get through but if the PL veto this then they're in a world of shit next season.

Yeah and presumably the aim/requirement for them is to finish in the top four sooner rather than later rather than stuttering along in mid table forever. All this could put a big dent in that. Shame.
