Financial Fair Play (FFP)

Probably won't go into administration but use it as mitigation to get them off their next FFP charge
That's not a valid mitigating factor in terms of reducing the points sanction. It doesn't form any form of defence.

In fact if you used that approach then forest could argue that they can't give us a points sanction as it could relegate us.

Losing sponsorship due to the Ukraine war does so losing a potential owner will easily fit the same narrative. Only if you are Everton, of course.

It's a fair point but for that very reason I don't think it will be given any consideration because it literally opens the door for Forest to legitimately challenge legally if they were relegated, that they shouldn't have had points applied because it caused their relegation.

So many things are pointless to administration. 777 have had their credit score lowered and their main lending streams have been cut off. Evertons other lending stream has been cut off due to the Russia situation. Everton are also going to spend a few months with very little commercial and matchday revenue after their last home game in 11 days time.
From what I've seen, a lot of 777s lenders are considering legal action to get out of their agreements.

Little bit of light reading about the current situation, including the fact that 777 could literally sue themselves if they cause another one of their clubs to fall into insolvency.

One less gobshite...
Everton will have just had the bulk if their ST money. They'll also be due the merit payments from the EPL shortly.

I can't see them going into Administration right now but if you have a negotiation with a lender about rescheduling a debt, having the barber with you to tell them what kind of haircut is coming can be sobering.

It's a complete house of cards as confirmed in that article. I hadn't realised that another source had pulled their lending stream too. I absolutely see Everton going into administration unless they can get another buyer but the reality is Everton becomes more attractive to buyers allowing it to go into admin first.

Exactly as I see it. As said as it ain't no one gonna buy them for the love of everton it's gonna be as a investment/financial prospect. It will have ramifications a club that gets 100mill tv money a season can get put into administration.

They're leaving it rather late with this appeal decision, aren't they?

I know they had a week or whatever it was after the hearing last Wednesday, but I thought they wanted to get it all sorted as quickly as possible to minimise the impact on the relegation battle?

Imagine how agrieved Luton will feel if they announce a two-point restoration to Forest right before their crucial match against Everton on Friday.

They will probably think "Premier League. Corrupt as f**k"

Bin VAR!
Probably release it tomorrow - don’t want to distract from the 3rd pen var audio that’s been released this evening.

*Not specific to this forum, before anyone gets offended and rings the police, a total generalisation of social media*

I don't take any pleasure in stuff like this. The thing I hate about this league and the wealth that comes with it is that it turns people into vindictive, spiteful bastards. You look on social media and its all "cheats" this and "cheats" that. People laughing at others demise. Fans (that have never attended a game) of teams hoping to just gain any advantage, whilst happily throwing actual people that love and support clubs two fingers along the way.

I feel sorry for Everton fans to be honest, its funny how people express their support for teams that are no competition to them during financial troubles, but at this level you see a bunch of hyenas baying for some advantage. I've been guilty of neglecting my principles at times this season because thats what it does to you. 'f*** you, we got a deduction so I hope you do too'.

Football is in a very very dark place right now, its not the game I love. Thats what hurts me, the fact that we cant just go and watch 22 blokes having a game of football anymore. I think that Everton fans could do with humbling a bit, they've spent waaaaay too long thinking they have a divine right to be at the top table, but I take no pleasure at all in deductions or potential administrations.

Have we really arrived at this as football fans?

I hope my grandad cant see this shit, is all I can say.

It's not just social media or football, nothing's changed at all, it's just in your face nowadays.
It's just a lot easier to see how nasty people can be, they've always been like it, it's just more obvious.
I don't know how old you are Redders but I dread to think what social media would have been like if we'd had it in the seventies.
At least today you can go to a game and know there won't be fighting before and after the match.
I've seen some nasty stuff following Forest and most of it was a long time ago.

I'm 46 mate and I agree with what you say.

Back then though it was about football, and having a scrap if you wanted to I guess. Non of this bollox about finance, VAR and anything other than just watching the football.

Its a social media problem AND a football problem. You wouldnt be able to watch a game today without VAR being discussed. Bring back casuals, at least there was some bollox involved.

Yeah, it's all got too complicated, and money is ruining football for us spectators just as it ruined boxing (which I loved to watch before Sky came along). Oh and you didn't choose if you had a scrap, it was a bit forced sometimes.

This is deffo an age thing but everyone used to be able to watch every massive British, European and World title fight for free on the Beeb or ITV.
Thats Ali, Frazier, Forman, Minter, Calzaghe, Hagler, Leonard, all for free. Weren't we lucky?
Absolutely, my love of boxing started on ITV with Bruno.

Them days are gone mate, long gone. I've subscribed to every single pro active boxing channel until about 5 years ago I thought f*** it, firestick time, 2 PPV events and its paid for itself.

I saw the Henry Cooper/Cassius Clay fight on an early cable TV set up at a girl friends house in London.
