I agree on Boly. It's actually hard to say that he ever really has a shit game and if you're playing a 4 at the back, if all the boys are fit, I think Boly is a sure starter with Felipe being the other.

His legs seem to extend like inspector gadget when he's making a tackle. Must be a nightmare to try and get away from.

Hopefully he can stay fit now and play a series of games with Murillo. Changing our CB pairing/three each week can't be good for team cohesion. Worrall and McKenna must be concerned now with Niakhate and Felipe to come back in as well as that kid we dropped about £20m on from Norwich.

Rock solid again. Playing in a better team than last season but having a near constant rotation of defensive combinations hasn't seemed to phase him.

Played some good football v palace too; it's important he's comfortable finding the midfield through the middle too.

Every game seems to have a shot of Serge chewing him out about something and Boly just standing there smiling.

Realised today he's out of contract at the end of the year - given his game doesn't rely on pace, I'd be tempted to offer him another year assuming he remains relatively injury free. Good experienced head and reliable backup. Thoughts?
In every team there's a player everyone thinks he's not up to the task when he signs, and yet he consistently does a proper job whenever he plays. Boly is such a player. Of course you should have his contract extended.

I'm not sure everyone thought he wasn't up to it*, but agree with the rest.

(* A very sensible take in post 39. Sensible!)

boly had been our best defender this season, him out of the team for past 2 games is tactical as both liverpool and villa have pacy attackers but after the win against villa, boly will have to wait for his chance , it's a squad game after all.

Boly started against Liverpool mate.

It’s a yes from me. In quite a few games he’s been the most accomplished defender on the pitch, but it often goes unnoticed.
Having said that I’m still excited by what Moussa & Murillo can achieve. We’ve got a great mini-squad of CD’s at the club now.

The on-going enthusiasm he displayed from the bench towards the performance and final result on Sunday was infectious. He seemed to kick or head every ball, and was constantly encouraging the lads on the pitch.

Similar to Wood in that it depends on the terms he'd want and how accepting he was of being down the pecking order. I'd like to think that with Murillo, Omobamidele, Niakhate, Worrall and then potentially this other Brazilian CB that we'll be fairly well-stocked in that department.

Felipe won't be here and I'd be shocked if Mckenna was too.
