I think this belongs in here rather than Forest banter, Forest transfers etc (cos it's not exactly going to happen!, and it's about other teams players).

Which player would you choose and why (best player?, most effective in current Forest team?, one of the best but chosen for style of play?, one of the best and would be the most entertaining in the current Forest team?....)?

Follow up question (that you might have answered anyway) - what would be your first choice XI and formation with this player added after a magical Fawaz transfer?

I haven't made my own choice yet. I think Ozil could make a claim as the best player and would be good to watch at Forest but I'm not sure he's what is most needed right now - if this was on the basis that we could add other player to the squad (normal targets for Championship clubs only though) then I'd be more likely to take Ozil and look around for others particularly strikers, wheras if it was just one player to add to the squad I'm not so sure. To be fair though Arsenal added him in a sort of similar scenario so I'm sure he'd be of great benefit anyway....

Suarez because he can win you games on his own. Versitile, exciting, unpredictable and he would suit davies because you could pack 10 behind the ball and give him ball and say go and create/score and he would.

Ok, I voted for Januzaj instead:

- He probably has been one of the best players at the start of the season, but picked on potential to be a great player as well as potential to excite.

- Good to have a superstar youngster

- Seems likeable and plays fair (was restrained after being stamped on the other day)

- Versatile (can play on either side or free, two footed and can run with the ball wide, central, near the box, from deep)

- Allows a 4-2-3-1 either with free roaming players or predominantly wide players

- Could play in attack as well as midfield

First choice line-up would be this if nobody else is signed:
------------------Darlow--------------------

Lichaj-----Hobbs--------Wilson---------Cohen

----------Lansbury-----Vaughan-------------

---Pato/Adnan----Reid/Raddy------Pato/Adnan---
------------------Mackie--------------------
Subs: De Vries, Lascelles(?), Jara, Reid/Raddy, Abdoun, Cox, Derbyshire.

If not Lascelles on the bench then probably Halford btw. I'm only going on the promising reviews on here and a bit of commentary on Radio Nottingham re: Lascelles.

Would you play him in a pair or fill the midfield and have him up on his own do ya think (or maybe be open to both)?

My alternative formation would fit in both Reid and Majewski I think. Even though this is unrealistic (Janhzaj a few months ago could have been one of the ones that was remotely possible but not any more) on the basis it was gonna happen and be a transfer not a loan then I suppose it'd be in question whether Vaughan would still be around. Anyway him or Lansbury would make way:

----------------Darlow-------------------

Lichaj-----Hobbs-------Wilson------Cohen

-----------Lansbury/Vaughan-------------
--------Raddy------------Reid------------

---Paterson/Januzaj---Paterson/Januzaj---
----------------Mackie--------------------

Assuming Vaughan stays the season, a striker would make the most difference to the current side.

Sergio Aguero would be my choice as the man up top - currently the best striker in the Premier League imo. An exceptional all round player and a goal scorer (141 goals in 302 top level appearances, 19 in 46 for Argentina). Mouth watering...

But realistically I'd be more than happy with any of Suarez, RVP, Rooney, Torres etc etc - any top PL striker would see us win the league.

Is Dzeko still warming the bench? Could be worth a cheeky offer.........

Suarez. Bit of a **** though.

Rooney or Aguero for me, then. Both good at more thna just finishing, can create and work well in a 4231.

I put RVP for similar reasons. He's good enough to play as a loan striker and could link up a 5 man midfield. A good footballer aswell as a very good goal scorer. Less likely to get sent off than Suarez as well.

Either 1 of my favourite players, Oscar or Fernando Torres. Given the need for a striker I'd say Fernando Torres, which would be great because I could have his name on my shirt and it'd be my Spanish last name too.

I'm fairly sure I've never even seen Coutinho or Roberto Saldado on the TV. I'd have Alberto Salazar as fitness coach. But from that list, Ozil. Unless you're allowing me Salazar, in which case I'd sign Wanyama. Because just think what Salazar could get out of a Kenyan.

Ye but hed be our ****

It's not like he's a cheeky chappy or an annoying bastard who we could warm to given his performances.

The guy is an absolutely vile wankstain. He'd never be "ours" in my mind, much the same as someone like Di Canio would never be "our" manager if he did end up here. I'd have absolutely no time for either.

However, that being said, Suarez would improve our team more than anyone else in that list.

I looked it up and it translates as Towers I think?

A Dutchman told me that Roy translates as the King but could also refer to unhappiness/hardship :dunno:
And also that Metgod translates as 'with God' :metgod: but the G is pronounced differently than the G in Gullit (but he understands why English people don't do this; I don't think he meant either was more like a G sound than an H sound).

I felt a bit conflicted when Sturridge was holding his arms out in disgust at Suarez (like I was taking Suarez's side in the matter but then had second thoughts cos of his misdemeanours:dunno:)

It does indeed, Towers is my surname. When I lived in Spain for a while people used to call me Torres.

I like how we've given up on our own team so much we're not resorting to fantasy transfers we'd like to see . If we did gain promotion though there's no reason why some of the fringe players at another Premier League club wouldn't want to join us to get some playing time.

Good point
There is that, but also I thought it was a more interesting way of asking who the best players are in the PL. It's a bit like the 'which former Forest player would you put in this side' threads but with a twist I suppose.
