Tyler Walker

The desire for him to be great product of our academy was always greater than the product of his actual talent.

Its a shame he didn't make it.

I hope he finds a level soon to stabilise his career.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him back with the stags, would have to take a substantial pay cut but I think it would be a decent move for both parties

Seems the championship has been a step too far for him. I hope he can get a decent league one move, get his mojo back and perhaps try again. Good luck to the lad.

We should have backed and nurtured him instead of spending £20m on Grabban & Carvalho
I can't agree mate. There's nothing to suggest he has the talent to have achieved more by now had he stayed at the CG. I agree with Ashley's point earlier that League One is probably Tyler's current level.

Wow. Got some different fish with that cast !

I think you’re gonna need a bigger boat.

I had no idea he was still at Coventry. Scored against Huddersfield today to put them to the foot of the table, love to see it 🔥🚀

Tyler Walker released by Coventry following the conclusion of his contract this year. May be able to find employment in League 1. Good luck to him.

Could see him going to derby. Didn’t his brother end up there.

That said he’s a bit young for derby

Think Paul Warne would prefer a 6ft 5, "experienced" journeyman who his team could launch the ball towards rather than someone like Tyler IMO.

He's toss tbf. Never really made it in the CH, looked half decent in L1 which is probably about his level.

Seems a nice lad but doesn't have anything outstanding attribute wise. He's quick but not Brennan style, not a particularly good finisher or header so perhaps not really cut out to be a striker but doesn't have the link up to be a winger or AM.

22 in 44 for Mansfield in L2 and 14 in 29 in L1 for Lincoln suggest he can be a 1 in 2 merchant at the lower level but that's a massive proportion of his 58 (in 221) overall.

Would really love him to get somewhere which works out for him because he's Des's lad but it's really tricky to see him making it anywhere really now. He's been getting the games but not scoring which is hard for a striker really.

Imps reporting that Tyler Walker suffered another setback in his longterm recovery from injury which will rule him out for a further 9/10 weeks. Looks like his Lincoln City career is at an end as his contract expires at the end of the season. Plagued by injuries, so League Two or lower is probably his next likely destination, assuming that he can get back to some semblance of fitness.

Probably the best thing for him to drop down a league now, he's barely played the past few seasons and a bit more breathing room and less stress on his body may give him half a chance at a decent finish to his career.

We need a striker. He'd be part of the home grown allowance in the squad for Europe next year.

Just a thought.
I had a shock, looking at the players in our squad classed as "Home grown" on the EPL web site.

By definition:-
A player is considered “homegrown” if they have been registered with a club in the same national association for at least three years before their 21st birthday.
Wood signed for West Brom's Academy when he was 18. Awoniyi was the same age when he joined Liverpool's academy.

That's home grown in terms of the Premier League. For Europe it gets split into two and four of them have to be club trained, which is only Yates.
