All: bit of a public service announcement - as you may or may not know, Elon Musk bought Twitter last year, and has been busily ruining it ever since.
Now, we know many of you use Twitter, and love to post links to juicy Twitter content on this forum. And that is cool.
However, recently, Elon has made some significant changes to the platform. And not for the better.
Since last week, you can no longer view Tweets unless you are signed up and logged in. And Also, Twitter have instituted browsing limits (effectively capping the number of times unverified users can access Twitter posts via their API).
Now, this is pretty shit, and it further doesn’t help those who are not Twitter users, because now, when you post a Twitter link, it appears in the forum as just a URL, and it won’t load (or be visible) if you’re not a Twitter user, and signed in.
A suggestion: if you see a Tweet that you think would be of interest, please don’t just post the link. Take screenshot of the Tweet instead, and then post that image. That way, everyone can actually see it, and you’re not forcing folk to have to sign up for the rancid cesspit that is Twitter, just to see what the latest Fabrizio Romano rumour is.
(Also, Screenshots mean Twitter doesn’t get a click, a page impression, or anything else, so they doubly lose out).
Would be great if you could consider posting screenshots instead of direct Twitter links, because not everyone uses Twitter (or wants to).
I will post this in Down The Pub as well.
