Looks like Paqueta will be leaving West Ham for Brazil despite being linked with big money moves to City and Arsenal last season, seems like he's potentially ruined his entire career with these betting charges

If he is going back to Brazil - then West Ham are going to lose a fortune on what they thought they were going to get for him.
That will effect what they can afford on a replacement - so MGW won't be going there. (if it was ever an option)

West Ham fans seem to think they can get MGW for 60m - even IF MGW was leaving I doubt he sees West Ham as the next step

What a waste, I think he's one of the most underrated players in the league. He has it all, one of the most impressive players I have seen live.

have they got £60m without getting good money for Pacqueta - no one in Brazil can afford more than £20m
I do agree though - West Ham is not a step up.

Sounds like Pacqueta‘s behaviour is going to end up costing Wet Sham a packet!

This interaction made me have a wry smile, I remember having the naive belief that the Premier league was not that big a leap from where we were.

The Sheffield United fan captures the reality a few months in.

Seems like Calafiori has turned Chelsea down in favour of Arsenal, wouldn't be surprised if they come in with a formal offer for Murillo

Wasn't he the dude Man City were sniffing around not long ago?

Funny if West Ham have turned a massive profit into a huge loss there.

Well... Chelsea have got LOTS of money what with all the hotels they sell to themselves.
Opening offer north of £100m else f*** off.

Bayern confirm they're signing Olise from Palace for 60m!
If they can't get a replacement with that money, I could see them struggling.

Ipswich spending a lot of money so far

Theyve signed Hutchinson for £23m, Johnson on a free and now rumoured to have the £40m double deal for Philogene and Greaves in the bag too. Meant to be after Delap shortly as well.

Will be interesting to see how they get on and whether they get any pelters like we did and without being too knobby, I genuinely don't know if spending big on championship wonderkids will work in the unforgiving EPL either but let's

It's a lot of money to splash on Championship players. They certainly need to increase squad standard to have a hope of staying up though.

Yeah, was just thinking the same. They are very talented players but they have almost zero Premier League experience. We saw in our first season how vital that experience is.

The difference between Serge / Neco Williams in our first year is a good example. Loads of other examples too.

But realistically, they aren't going to attract seasoned operators like we struggled with when we came up.

Now we have our, rather wild, experience to look back on, it's interesting to see how other clubs in a similar position cope with what is a seismic change in their world.

Some just go cheap and bank the money hoping to do a Norwich and go down and bounce back quickly with a few quid in their back pocket.

Some spend a bit, but think their Championship football will see them through, like Burnley.

Some spend not a lot, change their football and hope that will do. As it very nearly did for Luton.

As Ipswich are very near to me and I used to go with a couple of real fans from the village before I moved, I'll keep a weather eye on their progress. They seem to me to be a bit 'Burnley' in their ideas so far, but McKenna has had untroubled progress so far in his short managerial career, so he might do a Cooper and succeed.

AKA doing a Huddersfield. I kind of understand why they were so lackluster in their support in the play off final. They had been in the Prem a few year before and went down with 16 points. A nice as the top level is, if the club isn't backed enough to make some sort of effort, it must be horrible for the fans.

Same with Blunts last season, their fans couldn't wait for the inevitable so they could get back to competing properly again.

Thankfully we have owners who see the bigger picture and had the vision to invest enough to keep us at the top table…just. Hopefully with no off field shananigins or FFP bollocks we can finally establish ourselves in this league this coming season.

Branthwaite in the news again. Didn't think Everton were in a position to be turning down these sorts of numbers, especially with no-one else in for him. Assume they have PSR covered like ourselves this time, not budging on their £60mil valuation it seems.

What is it with Utd and throwing silly money at centrebacks?

Speaking of Everton, I see they got in for Philogene ahead of Ipswich. £16mil heading Hull's way.
