And that's a dive and a yellow card, free kick to villa... Oh but we let him get away with it.

*Edit* Dive by the BHA player in the box.

Always nice to read your pleasant comments.
That wasn't aimed at you Pynchon apologies if you thought it was, it was tongue in cheek. I've had some superb refs over the years and great blokes. I've also had some grade A pricks too. One of the things I have found though is that from 2005 onwards refs became increasingly more arrogant and obnoxious years on year. I'd wager that it you asked a large number of footballers my age they would say the same.

Ok good stuff. Sometimes I feel a bit ostracized, partially of my own doing hehe.

Well Chelsea hit five and we have them next week. But they seem to be good one week, not so good next. Hopefully the disinterested side show up.

I'm not like that mate. I'm not one for resorting to name calling over differences of opinion. I know I disagree with you frequently on some things but I'd much rather have that than an echo chamber. FWIW there has been the odd occasion that I've re-evaluated a couple of my opinions after something you've said. Different perspectives are important even we don't agree. Please don't take anything I say as personal attack on you, I'm merely challenging the ideas.

Did Arsenal steal the plastic anthem from the Scousers or did the Scousers nick it from the gunners?

Also just got the telly muted in time so as to avoid the Scouse dirge that they don't ever seem to break for commercials during...

Has Ange inverted Brennan? This a new thing? Also where's Madison?
He has done it a few times and it doesn't seem to work very well for him, I think its because Kulusevski is all left foot and has been successful cutting in so they are trying it on both sides.

It kind of reminds me of us a bit, CHO is brilliant at cutting in. Elanga is probably in truth better at playing wide on the left and hasn't yet been that successful at cutting in from the right.

It worked better for them when they had Kane central but Son seems to take positions where both of the wide men could do and it all gets a bit messy.

Spurs look done for the season though, it could end up being an embarrassing one for them.

I think Ange needs to find an assistant he can trust that can implement a plan B when necessary. You can't just approach every single game one way and expect to beat teh top clubs that way. Certainly, a few better players and he'd be closer to the top 3. But he still needs variety if he truly wants to take Spurs out of "almost" status.

Nah, Elanga is much better wide right as was/is Johnson. With both of those players they just need to get isolated one on one Vs a full back or in the channels and run at the defender.

Frustrates the crap out of me when Elanga cuts inside and tries to be part of the build up. Just get on the shoulder and run at them every time.

Talking about Brennan running full tilt into the post makes me think.

Many passes to Salah are ahead of him so he's running at top speed at the defense. Brennan gets the ball most often to his feet or even facing backwards and unable to use his main weapon, speed.

I thought Elanga himself has said on multiple occasions that he very much prefers to play on the left? (See article below)

I agree with the getting one on one bit btw but guess I'm selectivity remembering him tearing down the left side against Arsenal and setting up Taiwo which is etched into my brain as one of his finer moments.

In truth I had thought that his cutting in bit from the right was related to him not being comfortable out there and being a natural leftie but he's actually right footed isn't he?!

I suspect he doesn't want to be thought of as just a pace monster hence his desire to play wide left and be able to both run the flank and cut inside on his favoured foot.

But for me he's not a cute ball player like MGW or CHO, and he just needs to stick to what he's best at. No shame in that because what he's good at he's really good at.
