Trevor Francis, RIP

Had the same effect on the crowd when he got the ball as collymore did years later. Really hope the club will do something as part of any redevelopment to honour not only him but all the miracle men as let's face it they changed the lives of so many of us who were lucky enough to be around then.
Thank you Trevor for rounding off the best day of my life stood behind that goal that night. Gutted .

The new main stand should be called the Miracle Stand, because its will literally be a miracle if its ever built.

Well done to Birmingham for getting this up so quickly.

Have we done anything similar?

There's a book of condolence for folk to sign as of 8am this morning

Forest are a classy club I'm confident we'll do everything right to honour Trev & CBW

We're not scousers Notch so we don't want a grief competition with the Blues & Wednesday

I see that Birmingham City have arranged a pre-season friendly against Rangers to mark a year since the passing of the great TF. We don't know the circumstances behind this and don't know whether Forest were asked but would it not have made sense for them to play Forest? I know that Blues were always Trevor's favourite team because he played there for so long and was a legend there. But why Rangers? Forest or Sheffield Wednesday would likely have brought more support with them too. A real shame I think.

Maybe we should have been the ones doing the arranging?

I saw the reboot of this thread and was concerned that one our best ever signings had died, risen from the dead and then died again.
Cavan town, Cavan, Ireland (An Cabhán, Eire), Feb 2025.
He's not quite been resurrected but his spirit lives on.
It was a Sunday morning so there were very few people to ask about the backstory - the Paddy Power staff had no idea who he was.
Unless it's completely different TF...

You know, for some weird reason, I thought Jasper Carrott himself had also passed?

Good to hear he is still going!

(I still laugh at his „John Selwyn Gummer…is a bummer!“ joke).

I remember (must have been late 90's/early 2000's) the A Block coming out with "Jasper Carrott - what a wa*ker, what a wa*ker" whilst playing Brum.

Quite funny at the time. I do miss some of the old school songs before the world went mad.

Funnily enough I had the same false memory until I recently discovered he's still touring and doing very well for himself.

He had some health problems a few years ago but is fine now. He turned 80 this month and looked better than Graeme Souness, who was one of the guests.
He was on Midlands Today (as in West Midlands as most people there don’t seem to realise there’s also an East Midlands) the other day to promote his tour and more or less said people might not realise he’s still around and might think it’s their last chance to see him.

Half his act is about age now! It was a very good event. Apart from the chat with Souness there was very little about Trevor but the acts all knew him or he liked with music from the likes of Toyah and Tony Hadley and a few decent comedians plus, er, Bobby Davro.
