Hi Tom,

I hope you don't mind calling me Tom do you?

I was going to write in support of you, but realised that actually, you've made that really hard work, so I'll pass and instead ask you a couple of questions -

You run one of, if not the biggest, most successful and professional Architect companies in the region don't you?

What would you say to one of your Architects who goes to pitch for a huge project that could have massive PR for your company, bringing you plaudits from everyone and establishing your company and your name as not just good but great, but who so utterly screws it up he would have been better walking into the presentation room, dropping his pants and curling one out on the table?

Now find a mirror and say it to yourself.

Just been talking to my Grimsby town supporting neighbour. He can't believe how much the price increases are. Obviously it's not just us talking about it. As he pointed out and yes it's a small minority of cases, but with the age change someone sitting in a certain seat could find the price going from £180 to £800ish.

Hi, Tom.

You're the chairman of the club.

Talk to the radio (and hence the fans) or send the Chief Operating Officer to talk to the radio (and hence the fans).

To refuse to do so absolutely leaves your position untenable.

Sorry Tom, if you cannot take responsibility when the club has - quite clearly - f**ked up big time, then sorry old son, you ain‘t the man for the job.

Maybe you took the role on because you thought your firm of architects would get some juicy kickbacks from the football club - fair play, if so - but you are supposed to be the Chairman of a football club that actually means something to tens of thousands of people, and if you do not understand that responsibility, and the burden that comes with it, then to be honest, you need to step aside and let someone take the reigns, who is not potentially beholden to the job simply because of the potential profits they can make for their company.

Sorry to speak so bluntly old mukka, but that is the way it rolls.

Forest is a special club. It has a history, and a fanbase, that to be honest, few others can match. It has been passed around from chancer to chancer for over three decades, to the detriment of the club, and its fans.

You - as Chairman - should lead by example. You should be out there, front and centre, putting forward the plans and strategy of the club, as to how it is going to better itself.

Instead, what we get is constant lies, bullshit, and false and broken promises, and then sneaky announcements that do nothing more than milk loyal fans for every penny they have. If that is your strategy, and you signed off on it, so be it.

But don‘t expect to not be called out on that, because its shit. And the fans of this, frankly, f***ing magnificent football club, deserve far, far, better than what the current owner, and - to be honest - you, as his mouthpiece, are serving up.

We - as fans - have been bullshitted that FFP was nothing to worry about, and we were compliant. That went well, didn‘t it? You - as custodians of the club - have massively, massively, f**ked up, and the fanbase deserves for you to own that, and apologise for it, but I doubt you will, of course.

You are supposed to be a Forest Fan. Is this really something you find acceptable?

Because I, and - I suspect - tens of thousands of others, might have a bone to pick with you about that.

Well, I think the answer to that is, clearly, yes?

Forest it seems, don’t value - at all - those who followed them for years or even decades; now they’re a Premier League team, they simply seem to want to disenfranchise many of those who - let us not forget - are happy to settle for mediocrity, and replace them with floating tourists who they gouge for more revenue.

It’s another sad day for football in the shitfest that is the „modern game“.
Forest are essentially shitting on the love of their life for a quick shag with a model.

I am reminded of the famous quote from Francesco Totti:

Whilst the chairman could resign/be booted out, the chief operating officer is surely overseeing the actual implementation of day to day operations and needs to be made an example out of. The sort where he can't easily walk into another job

This reminds me of a story in Shoot magazine back in the 1970s. I think it was one of their summer specials.

The story starts with a young lad standing on the terraces in his denims, scarf held high, taunting the opposition fans and chearing on his club for all he's worth.

20 years later he's obviously done well for himself. He's sitting quietly in the best seats wearing a sheepskin coat and trilby hat, smoking a massive cigar. He turns to a similar man in the next seat and says of the fans in the terraces.

"What's happened to the people in the terraces these days. I've been coming for over 20 years and I've not changed one bit in my support. but look at them there, shouting abuse at the players, they are embarassing."

The moral of the story, obviously, is that we can forget what it was like when we were young and / or not so well off. :(
