The differential approach to price increases is quite remarkable because some areas have been targeted for huge increases whereas others have not. As a long-term supporter in Upper Bridgford (the only stand I am allowed in) our five family seats have not been targeted for an increase. Whereas those in some other areas have been subjected to a huge increase. This is unfair.
I‘m fortunate that I can afford my season tickets but the announcement of the increases is an affront to many supporters who will struggle to afford the new prices. Nottinghamshire and neighbouring counties are low wage economies which seriously affects those supporters in poorly paid jobs.
The timing of the increase shortly following the recent Fan Advisory Board is very poor as there seems to have been no dialogue with fan groups.
Regrettably we are witnessing the cost of PL football to loyal supporters. It’s been coming over the past two years - anyone taking hospitality packages has seen a huge rise in the cost, likewise the queue jumping corporate packages for away games have been very expensive.
A friend of mine without a season ticket but attends virtually all home games told me that for the Man Utd cup tie he paid £55 for a seat in the Peter Taylor Stand.
i shudder to think of the price if we do have a new stand.
I note the many references to the new Chairman. In reality he is simply a spokesman for the owner. The owner is determined to progress the Club and will take decisions with this objective.
Our owner is not alone - our elite football is almost exclusively foreign owned. Neither they, nor PL, nor the FA have any understanding about the roots of our game. Our supporters are a constant, in it for the long-run, whereas owners simply pass through for a few years. Sadly, we are powerless, and have to live with consequences.
At the most crucial stage of the season when the club needs total support, it has turned its back on supporters with no real explanation.
