Don't go to Nottm centre much but went wednesday and walking through where Broadmarsh was, thought, what a mint place for a shiny new football stadium this would have been (obviously f*** the bus station off as well).

People can get buses/trains/tram easily. Outsiders like me could park and ride. Food places, bars everywhere would benefit. Fan zone in the market square to piss off County fans.

Mint.

As ever, American universities sporting departments and facilities are leading the way. Most of them have such an envious advanced facilities to create sporting excellence within an environment that the athletes are happy to be within for hours on end.

Thai is LSU (Louisiana) They're locker rooms and some adjoining areas have cost them €28M. Some of the little features and attention to detail are incredible

The teams/ Universities army of specialists therefore have extended time every day to ensure culture and regimes are enhanced whilst being unbelievably beneficial to observe testing and results

Nottingham's dirty secret
I think the current designs were influenced somewhat by the fact that we’d been out of the Premier League for a long time (which obviously came with financial constraints) and couldn’t say for sure at that point when we’d get back into the big time. Although nothing was suggested in this interview, it’s possible that the plans we’ve seen may receive a bit of finessing now whilst reasonably respecting the designs that have already been granted planning permission, and at least not be subject to the sort of value engineering that could make the final outcome look worse than what’s been proposed. Not many buildings look as good as the renders (that custard-coloured abomination Lace Market Point at the top of London Road on the BBC island in Nottingham, to name one example), but you get the occasional exception, such as Nottingham Contemporary, which looked like a load of shipping containers cobbled together in the renders and turned out to be quite striking with its finely cast green concrete panels featuring lace patterns and what not.

They’ll know they’ve got to reach a high standard anyway.
You say not many buildings look as good s the renders.

Jesus. I hope the opposite is true here as the renders appear to be from the early 90's.

Actually, it is very well known internationally, mostly for its rather unique location.

Why all of a sudden does it look 'dated'? Because Leicester decided to add a bit to their identikit crisp bowl? No thanks!

Agree, have thought this many times. Its about the only 'move' I would be on board with. Flatten Listergate and get it done.

If we knock down council house and a few other buildings around slab square we could just pop it in there. Who could object to that?

I’d like that, I could go in The Bell for a pint beforehand.

I've watched the interview with the Chairman. He clearly states that the WFCG is the 'forever home'. My view remains, as previously outlined, that it's not my preferred option because of site constraints, costs, transport links etc. However, we are where we are so my take on the interview is / questions remaining unanswered:

Has any consideration been given to relocation?
Are NFFC seeking to acquire neighbouring property, especially Roseberry Avenue?
What are the plans to improve the concourse areas? (We all know that they fall well short of the standards now expected, so what, when, and why not now? ...).
The boat club issue was carefully avoided. Commercial sensitivities aside I am surprised that it didn't get more of an airing, if only to dispel rumours.
Shipping container corners? I think it was suggested that it would be both corners, but not sure.
Facilties for folks with disabilities. WFCG is shocking in this regard and, again, I am disappointed that there has not been any statement of intent to put it right.
PT stand design. It's not world beating but it will add greatly to the overall appearance of the ground. There are some details that disappoint me, and overall i feel that it lacks vision, the same vision that is lacking for the stadium upgrade / redevelopment and the same vision that is lacking when it comes to getting the supporters onboard and excited.
Question: could the big TV at the Bridgford End be moved (higher up on the roof perhaps) so that the seats that are currently blocked off could be used? Every little helps. It would tie in with moving the other big TV to make room for the shipping containers.
Bridgford End generally. What is the vision? The arrangement for disabled fans means that several rows of seats in front of them are blocked off. Who designed that? The rake is poor, concourses are poor, and what about the corner with the proposed new PT stand? What about the levelling off of the roof? To increase capacity, is a new design and rebuild the answer? There's a massive amount of work in sorting that lot out, and I'd like to think that the club have at least begun to think about it, and then that they'd have the wisdom to share some of those thoughts.

I wonder if the Trust and / or the Chairman will be any more forthcoming in the future. I did cringe at the opening shots of the interview, where the two of them were at pains to explain that the changes were not scripted or censored and so on. It sounded more like a Boris Johnson piece to camera rather than a genuine Q and A.

Finally, I've been back in Liverpool this week. The new Everton ground is looking great and the work on infrastructure in the surrounding area is gearing up. I'll be there a lot next year. I did also manage to 'wangle' a look inside Anfield and I had a look inside the new Anfield Road stand extension. In a word - impressive.

Agree with all your points here.

Whilst I’ll never question the integrity of the new video or the club’s intentions, I just think until bulldozers move in this whole thread is bollox here on.The democratic process is complete in terms of permission and unless we can prove Benoy and the board wrong.. we’re out of the picture.

I’d lock the thread to stop me or anyone else replying lol

I'm not convinced we will be at the city ground much longer and they are finding the right way to break the news.
I think the ground extension was designed to cope with the championship not for the premier league that's why they thought 5,000 extra would be ok for the next few years until we break the news.

We build a 50k new ground on the other side of lady bay bridge. Let the Rugby Club have the City Ground. Do a new pitch for the hockey lot. Let folk park on the hockey pitch for 50p on matchdays. Bob's yer uncle. I wouldn't call it the Ethiad though, that's already gone...

Planning permission for the executive shipping container stacks for the Trent End corners has gone into Rushcliffe Borough Council and can be viewed on their planning portal: https://planningon-line.rushcliffe.gov.uk/online-applications/ (you just need to search 'Nottingham Forest').

From a brief initial glance it appears that ten stacked containers will be elevated in each corner, which will reach nearly as high as the BC stand & TE roofs.

Edit: there's a decent early render on this development messageboard too - https://www.skyscrapercity.com/threads/nottingham-city-ground-expansion-approved.2158970/page-42

I thought when the current redevelopment plans were revealed, it was going to be a 38k stadium.

Now it is around 35k. Bit underwhelming, might as well wait till an established PL side and then reevaluate.

In terms of extra capacity I think the planning docs suggest this will be on both sides of the Trent End.
