Spot on.

New owners understand the value of their IP and assocaited TV Rights.

The big clubs will want more from their broadcast partners - and will pressurise the PL to free up their control.
They can pressurise all they want but nothing is going to change domestically (aside from the dropping of Amazon and a few more Sunday live games) until at least 2030/31 season.

Sounds like a Brighton-esque scenario to me.
There may be absolutely no truth in the rumour though (I’ve heard a few over the past couple of years).
You know what it's like though Norman, as soon as a bullshit rumour like that appears on the internet it spreads and within no time it becomes fuçking gospel. No doubt the fuçking shysters at the Nottingham Post will create a story from it, quoting readers' comments.

I have sympathy for those who can’t currently get tickets (especially the youngsters) but it’s a shame that some didn’t show more commitment and enthusiasm towards the club when we were struggling in the Championship and League One.
I had a season ticket for 15 years before I moved, including the three seasons in League One.

Can I get tickets easily?

Nope. Even with a MyForest membership.

We have to acknowledge that the current size of the WFCG simply isn’t big enough now, what with this new dangled Premier League thingy?

The frustrating thing is Forest have been a Premier League side for three seasons now, and the „improvements“ and expansion of the City Ground has been limited to piling half a dozen shipping containers on top of each other in one corner.

I fully agree,Strummer-capacity at the City Ground needs to be increased without further delay.

Though I love the City Ground I’m coming round to the view that developing a modern stadium which enables us to compete financially with top half premier league clubs is incompatible with where we are now. The nimbyism we get from Rushcliffe is always going to hold back development.
It’s heartbreaking but the big man’s willingness to finance a new ground is starting to feel like a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Yes, I’m the same: love the City ground and so many happy memories with me and my son but we are constrained by the site and RBC. So frustrated with the NIMBYS.

A new stadium, similar to but larger than Everton’s, is the way to go.

Strike while the iron is hot - we may never have another opportunity.

Yep. It’s a far higher risk if Forest let this run and run.. I know it’s not Forest but ultimately there’s a point where Forest will need to walk away. It’s not going to be financially sustainable to continue with this farce
In principle that sounds fine,Sammy-if we had a good location to go to (i.e fairly central to Nottingham and not
a Legoland miles out of town).
Even if we could find a suitable location (Eastcroft has been mentioned on here) I reckon it could take years to
agree planning and overcome nimbyism before work even commenced (that’s even if Nottingham City Council
would play ball).
What happens to the City Ground in the meantime? I reckon the Main Stand must be in line to be condemned at some point in the not too distant future.

Quite frankly, it should have been condemned years ago!

As for the City Council playing ball, apologies for repeating myself, but my wife has been a local Labour Party activist for over 50-years and as such has plenty of contacts within the council. She's been told that from a revenue impact point-of-view there is a desire to try and accommodate NFFC within the city if circumstances dictate that relocating becomes the only option.

Cost and exact location would be another matter, but at a guess, a site to the SE of the city-centre would probably be the most likely option.

That's arse about face of what Forest are actually trying to achieve.

We'll "accommodate" your request if leaving is the only option we've effectively left you with?

40k is more than enough, ticket sales for a Wembley semi have petered out at 34k, we'd get a few more for the big games 5 times a season but that few can fukc off as far as I'm concerned. Any bigger and the atmosphere would be diluted to West Ham/Spurs/Arsenal levels. Like it or not, it's the support as much as the finances that have carried us through the last 3/4 seasons.

Also,Wes-West Ham,Tottenham and Arsenal have the ‘tourist’ element being based in London (the first time I went to the new West Ham stadium I was surrounded by Spanish people).
A provincial rundown East Midlands city is highly unlikely to attract this segment of the market on a regular basis.

I tend to agree Wes. Get the Main stand and the daft dip in the Bridgford done and see where we are at.
If we're an established top 6 team and regularly going deep into cup competitions look at doing the Exec.

How have tickets for Wembley petered out?

We've sold out and I know a load of people who would snap up tickets if any more become available.

I think we should be as ambitious as the budget of our owner allows. Let's build something which means I can take my kids to the games and something they can be proud of in 40 years' time. That doesn't necessarily mean a brand new stadium in a new location but it should mean a hell of a lot more than a few more seats in a replacement Main Stand.

Everyone I know who wanted one has one, some without any purchase history and I can't see many on here moaning that they can't get a ticket.
40k is about the sweet spot I reckon which is significantly more than a few more seats.

This is accurate. I'm not sure if I've missed some news but I dont understand why all this talk of out of town stadium has suddenly resurfaced.

The nub of the debate revolves around whether we need a 50,000 stadium or not-we certainly won’t need it at a soulless out of town location or probably not at some derelict wasteland nearer Nottingham.
