I'm a bit young to remember him but have read numerous things. Is his height exagerated or was he actually 7ft 2?

You would'nt want a clip off him thats for sure!
Wearing his helmet, quite possibly.
As I have posted before, my Uncle (who first took me to Forest in the 70s) was a PC in Nottinghamshire Constabulary around the same time as Tug, and my uncle was six foot four and built like a brick shithouse, but Tug was bigger than him!

I remember being at the Dungeon when the famous raid took place on March 11th 1967. Anyone under 17 were taken to the upstairs of the main police station. Halfway through the night I needed a pee, so told the policeman at the door that I needed the toilet, he told me to stand there and someone would take me, well, an enormous PC (not Tug) came and took me, he stood next to me in the cubicle watching my every move, I just couldn't pee so he thought I'd said I wanted the toilet to get rid of pills. So I got searched again. Finally had a pee. On the way back to the boys room we passed the girls room, I remember putting my thumb up and so many girls waved back. Happy days.
I wonder if this giant of a policeman was your uncle, he was very firm but pleasant.

One man's cooking oil is another man's piss bottle.

Re the stadium development and traffic issues, I understand that Lady Bay residents are circulating a questionnaire seeking views on how to fix it. One option is a residents only parking scheme when Forest are at home (as distinct from such a scheme all the time). They are also promoting a double yellow scheme for one side of Trent Boulevard so that emergency vehicles and buses can get through.
No doubt this is the thin end of the wedge.

When you buy a house, you don't get to own the road outside! I believe that they had the chance of a residents parking scheme years ago, but rejected it, because they didn't want to pay for it.

I park in LB on night games, as there isn't any public transport to get me back to Lincolnshire but I arrive early and park considerately. Many don't, especially those that want to arrive with 15 minutes to kick off. I noticed last week, that cars are parking all the way down Trent Boulevard, nearly as far as Adbolton Lane now.

Putting a parking scheme in on matchdays, is just going to make the problem worse. A proper long term solution is needed, one that suits both parties.

Apologies for stating the bleedin' obvious but matchday parking is going to be an even bigger problem in the near future, with or without a higher capacity stadium. As well as the problems highlighted in Lady Bay, further restrictions in WB town centre are pending and who knows what's going to happen when County Hall is vacated. My route to the CG is via Loughborough Road where parking now extends almost to Asda by 1 hour before kick off and few spaces to be had on the side roads. More annoyed residents in the Loughborough Road/Melton Road triangle looking for parking schemes?

Parking is a real problem that is only going to get worse and they need some joined up thinking to resolve. Instead, more and more restrictions are put in place without a decent alternative for many.

As above, evening games are almost impossible to navigate without a car if you live outside of traditional Nottingham City boundaries.

I'm told Boxing day there is no public transport at all, certainly not for me over near Bingham. That will be fun!

Match day park and ride service, similar to the Open golf is worth considering. We go to the golf every year and mostly, this works really well. Usually more of a queue to leave because everyone leaving at the same time, but not awful. The car parks do need proper marshalling and traffic control though, otherwise it becomes a free for all. Just about works with mild mannered golf fans, but may try the patience of football fans after a 96th minute winner for the opposition aided by a dodgy VAR decision!

Of course for the Open, they close the roads to other traffic (I assume residents are given permits) so not sure that would work for Forest. But surely worth exploring?

The Tram should be running a Sunday service, based on previous years at least, but obviously that's only useful for some people.

It does mean that the Park and Ride sites at Clifton South and Phoenix Park remain good options for people coming via the M1 though.

Exactly my route in for past few years. No problems with evening games either. Fulham was an arse due to the strike so drove in but they tend to be one offs

Trouble is if you think you've arrived early and parked considerately it doesn't mean some other yplac doesn't go on the other side of the road and parks there just because there's not a yellow line and then the combination of both parked cars blocks the road - there's also no concept of being parked first usually so both vehicles will usually end up sanctioned.

It's a big issue and a fair amount of WB and LB near the ground might well be a more affluent area but doesn't always have a large amount of off street parking for residents and even then they don't need people being yplac and parking over their drives. Also, and I fully appreciate a lot of these people have chosen to live near a football ground - residents do need to get in and out easily when there's a match on and sometimes that means needing to park outside their house (which isn't a right) or at least near it.

Ideally there should be a lot more provision for off street parking when there's a match on but there isn't a lot of space to do it in. Especially with the ground holding 30k and with plans to increase it which means a lot of cars especially at times when PT isn't as easy to use such as 8pm kick offs which aren't over until 10.

I only drive in for night games but never had a problem parking. I mean it costs about a fiver. If you're wanting to park for free then im not sure you can complain really.

Not many places you can just park nice and close without being inconvenienced for free anywhere these days, certainly not next to a football stadium 😂

I agree, I have never have a problem with parking especially compared to other grounds.

I suppose it depends when you arrive though.

Yeah, and how tight you are! I'd rather not have the stress of finding a parking space outside someones house personally. For those having to drive in that must be a right pain in the arse!

Take my fiver all day long.

It's actually a civil offence (Trespass), so good luck with that if someone does park on your drive.

Additionally, if you either block. or move or wheel clamp said car, then you could be facing a Criminal offence.

Neither is smashing the windows out, breaking the stearing lock and leaving it down the road for the owner to find.

Actually, that might be, but who would care?
