Did the shipping container corners get anywhere with planning permission? All gone very quiet.

Rushcliffe planning portal still says 'pending decision'. Seems a bit odd given the amount of prep work that has gone into this.

Pleased with the EM Mayoral outcome. I hope that this will give us an 'overview' approach to planning and that could well work to Forest's advantage in terms of stadium development, wherever that may be.

The results across the country seem to demonstrate pretty clearly that folks have realised that the Tories have defunded local authorities and the services that the are supposed to provide to such an extent that the country is on its knees. It's wake up time I think. Well done to the voters of `Notts and Derby, and to the voters across the country who have sent Sunackered a stark, red card message.

Of course Labour controlled Nottm City Council being bankrupt is nothing to do with the Tories.

How long does it take those pen pushing burks at the council to grant permission for the shipping container developments? They need to get a shift on.

It might not be the council that are delaying.

It's like with the PT stand development, everyman and his rowing boat was blamed for the delay but it turned out it was Nottm City Council and NFfC unable to to do a deal over the lease.

Of course Labour controlled Nottm City Council being bankrupt is nothing to do with the Tories.

And what about all the other councils gone bankrupt so far and the 20% of councils who are preparing bankruptcies notices as won't be able to meet next 12 months spending commitments, many of which are Tory controlled?

It's almost like central government slashing council funding whilst mandating continued service delivery of expensive things is a problem.

One thing is very clear and that is the available alternative sites are currently unaffordable (Eastcroft in particular) because no matter what the advantages of the site (if a move is deemed inevitable) the current situation with the Government Commissioners controlling the City Council means that they will seek to maximise the sale or lease value and, at least theoretically, it is worth more for housing, Tesco's or whatever rather than a stadium. I say theoretically because the economy is far from healthy and it could be a waiting game for any prospective purchaser or lessee.

I reckon we'll still be in limbo until at least six months after a general election, which I don't think will be soon (but it has to be before January 2025) because the current robbers in power have only one thing on their agenda, that is creaming off whatever they an whilst still in power.

It's also a fact that there's no point in wining and dining Ben Bradley at the WFCG since he lost the EM mayoral race.

Just watching the WSL game at the Etihad second pitch which was built as the reserve /U21 pitch originally. Now perfect for the ladies games.

Only ten years ago that was sort of waste land and the tour guide going round the City of Manchester Stadium pointed out the tremendous plans the Arabs had for the infrastructure, And it's now all built and looks superb. In that time we've made tremendous strides on the pitch, but off it we're stuck in a quagmire.

Hi Tom Cartledge,

I don't know who is in charge of club comms but they seem to know the exact wrong time to put information out. They also seem to only be able to go to war with someone, now we've essentially been put back in our box over the past week by the PGMOL, FA and EPL we are moving on to another pointless battle that will again cost us goodwill and cause further reputational damage.

We have our last home game of the season which could be absolutely critical in our quest to survive.

We have parked the animosity towards the ridiculous price rises, the corporate £10k matches and other matters to embrace supporting the team and stick 2 fingers up at the EPL and get behind the team on Saturday which "Mist Rolling in" song absolutely sets the spine tingling tone for.

Instead of putting the questions out over the summer they have to distract and give us another thing to moan and get upset about though because it seems like it has to be all about them. What next cunning plan is there to antagonise the fanbase, making our home strip white or formally changing our name to Notts Forest?

Think about it Tom, stop with the mind games. Regardless of the additional cost the city council are asking for in terms of rent or for the freehold it is not going to cost less building a new stadium from scratch. It cost Spurs £1billion to pivot White Hart Lane, its screwing Everton up having a £700m liability constraining them on the football field as well as off it too. The finances don't make sense if you can't find £1m a year and £100m for a new stand.

My genuine view, cut the crap, talk like grown ups with the council and find a solution but seriously shut up until you have done.

The timing of this is moronic too. We've got our final home game of the season on Saturday where we may need to get something in order to guarantee safety. The fans are barely on the board's side as it is. Now do an interview a few days before discussing the real possibility that we may leave The City Ground for some soulless bowl in Toton! It feel they are deliberately trying to antagonise us!

Well ‘ultra Forest fan’ Daniel Taylor certainly couldn’t wait to stir the pot either.

Sounds to me like they're playing hardball to try and get the ground issues sorted, sometimes just a reminder that they can exercise other options is enough to focus minds on what they really want to do.

Wouldn't like it too much if the club did move though

Think that would be the final nail to find something better to spend my money on or go a few rungs down the ladder and start watching some non league football get rid of the one thing that makes us unique those who think this is a good idea I hope you enjoy the atmospheres we have seen all over our 2 year premier league adventure so far and tourist fans all over our ground absolute load of shit

I've had, on very good Authority, that the wishes and intention of our owner is to build a new stadium.
The way I received this news suggests that he thinks this is what the fanbase wants to hear and what we have been waiting for.
I will bet my bollocks to a barn dance that this piece is to test the reaction of the fanbase, so now would be a good to react.
I will not attend a match at Toton. My wife will not attend a match at Toton. The 3 people we go to games with will not attend a match at Toton. An old lad I speak to in the pub will not attend a match at Toton. I didn't tell anyone else about my conversation at the time so that is the a small sample size but the strength of feeling is abundantly clear and the reactions were filled with emotion so I reckon they will stand if tested. I know that others will take our places in the Premier League but we were all there in League 1 too.
I believe that Daniel Taylor reads this forum and I hope Danny, that you are being played unwittingly because otherwise you are being seduced by the promise of inside knowledge which would be you finished as a credible journalist.
Time for us all to stand up as fans and make our opinions heard.

You will understand, I could not possibly comment on this…

Also, Toton? No thanks.

Wrong place, and it would saddle the club with massive amounts of debt for years (see Spurs, Everton and the Arsenal).

Tom's tenure as chairman has been an unmigtigated clusterfuck. His inability to read the room and apathy towards forest fans from a so called fan himself is borderline disgusting.

Appointing someone into the role of chairman who has much self interest in the potential of a new stadium is a massive own goal.

This line is telling me the new stadium is the choice no matter what the rest of the fluff says:

to quote Cartledge, “Yes, the City Ground is our home, but just imagine if we did something amazing.”
