If they are selling his better players and not allowing him to reinvest that money into the squad, then I can hardly blame him for walking. Leaving now with his reputation intact makes perfect sense, let someone else be the fall guy for Huddersfield's lack of ambition.

I sense with the investment in players for our team now going on, that unless you have a man at the top prepared or able to back the team, then you're going to get into that problem area of pocket not matching expectation. Like Norwich who have just enough money to back a decent Championship team, but fall short when faced with the high demands of the Prem. Delia just hasn't written enough books.
And coaches/managers who have a modicum of success feel they deserve backing, but often it just isn't there. I believe that's how we got our coach after Swansea ducked out.
