I mentioned in another thread that he is to the Championship/Premier League what Paul Warne is to League One/the Championship. He'll get you promoted, the problem is what happens next...

The promoted three are going straight back down again next season IMO.
Leeds are a big club though, never rule out them spending some money.
It will be interesting if Burnley get some results with their over defensive style under Parker in the Prem.

Logic would dictate it gives them a better chance than the stupid attacking managers that never change but at the same time they are just not gonna score enough goals. Sheff United have barely scored many goals either.

Saying this I don’t think Burnley will go up anyway, they’ll try too hard to preserve their defensive record & settle for draws in games they need to win.
If little scotty Parker spent as much time sorting out his attacking play than he did thinking about what snazzy outfit he is going to wear on the sidelines they be world beaters.

Problem for them is that they'll actually have less spending power than everyone else (including Burnley and Sheffield United) due to them having lower allowable losses having spent the last 2 years in the Championship.

Wouldn't be surprised to see clubs looking at us and wondering if the points gained from overspending makes it worth taking the deduction from FFP breaching.

How rich are the owners of Leeds? Are they looking to 'do a Forest' when they get promoted and buy anyone and everyone?

Possibly. Breaching FFP might be their only shot at staying up.

Leeds will give it a good go - they have very ambitious owners these days - I think they will do an EM

I don't think it would make that much difference as they have a lot of spending power due to their revenue, they pull in much more money than those clubs & a lot of PL clubs.

They'll definitely spend but I don't think that's the issue, lots have come up & spent and achieved nothing. Both Burnley & Ipswich have come up & spend close to what we did on a large quantity of players with naff all to show for it.

You would be better off spending nothing & sacking Farke if he has a bad start than spending bucket loads & staying loyal to Farke because he got you up.

The year Leeds went down they spent bucket loads & half of them were duds that they were just buying for potential.

I know it would be controversial - but the best thing Leeds could do is sack Farke - the day after the Open bus parade and bring in a proven manager - and allow him to spend the money.

They should be tapping up managers before the season starts & if Farke starts poorly then get rid sharpish.

He should definitely get a chance, but not much of one as he has shown before he is incompetent at this level.

Southampton should have sacked Martin after GW 4 after they conceded their 5th goal playing from the back & they might have stood a chance.

I disagree.
When you know in advance that the manager is not going to be the long term solution - Why on earth would you give him £100m+ to spend!

Never thought Lampard deserved to be in the same category of manager as Rooney, doing a brilliant job at Coventry - currently in the playoffs after being in a relegation scrap when he took over.

Have to say, I thought that was a terrible appointment for them at the time but he's proven me wrong. He's doing very well, fair play to him.

Lampard with 8 wins from 9 games, which apparently hasn't been done at Coventry City for 55 years.

That's the type of late run in the season that gets you promoted through the playoffs.
Just seen this on BBC Sport. Doing an amazing job. Owner got loads of flack for sacking Robins, and he didn’t front up immediately but can remember him on talk sport speaking quite eloquently and justifying decision. I know Lampard links with Derby, but ignoring that I’d love Coventry to get in prem-they’ve had tough few years and proper club.

I've been a huge critic of Lampard as a manager - but he's doing a terrific job right now at Coventry. Far better than I expected.

Rooting for him just because we need more successful England coaches. I thought he was decent at Chelsea but had a rough time at Everton.

Another win for them, against stoke.

Lampard with 9 wins out of 10 now.

That's quite brilliant, at any level. Championship is such a tough league. He's doing a Stevie Cooper. Fair play.

People seem to talk about Lampard in the same breath as Gerrard and Rooney because of the playing time with England but although he hasn't had an amazing managerial career at Chelsea (but didn't do that badly) and Everton (who are a basket case) and managed that lot, he's far more intelligent than the other two and so you'd expect in the right environment he would do fine.

And maybe get on the dog to Uncle Harry too
