I think this game is probably as close to a cup final as you can get for us this season.
This is absolutely the moment for me, all things considered.

Everton got battered against Chelsea and Luton just got hammered, Sheffield United need a miracle and just got hammered, Burnley have begun to show some real signs of life and we'll need to keep an eye on them.

Win tomorrow and we're 4 clear of Luton. Effectively 5 with goal difference, and 6 (effectively 7 with GD) of Burnley.
It puts our pressure onto Everton, even with the extra game. The ticket stuff will take a back seat and we'll have something positive to cling onto. Things always feel better after a win.

Lose and I really don't fancy our chances, you can only blow so many opportunities as we have with teams down the bottom there this season.

We've got the players but to quite Neil Wanker, we're gunna have to want to die for three points tomorrow.

Blimey Ash. Arguably Luton’s most winnable game left sees them get battered 1-5 and the glass is still two thirds empty. Have a beer and rest up for tomorrow when a win could put us within touching distance of safety.
Everton at home is certainly winnable for them, as is Fulham on the last day. Though yes they would have been hoping for something today and who knows what such a heavy defeat will do to their mentality?

If we can pull a win out of the bag tomorrow it would be massive. Everton will probably feel the same way. It could go either way but here's hoping we can get a result; win tomorrow and we probably only need another point or two after that to stay up.

For me 5 more points is home and hosed because it would leave Luton needing positive results in 3 of their last 4 games including 2 wins and that just isn’t happening. 4 very likely sees us fine for similar reasons.

Burnley are gone, their next 3 games are likely all defeats which would mean they couldn’t catch us even beating us on the last day because of their goal difference. One more win for us would put Burnley to bed from our perspective based on the fixtures.

We absolutely HAVE to beat Sheffield United, no excuses, they are abysmal and have been well beaten at home by Luton and Burnley even. If that’s to be one of our wins we just need one more. Time to get that one tomorrow.

Some of the vacillation on here is ridiculous

At 3pm Luton were our main threat and we needed Brentford to win to help us out

Now it's Luton are gone and Burnley will overtake us :ROFLMAO:

Just because Burnley beat one of the shittest teams in Premier League history doesn't mean they're getting owt from Man U, Newcastle or Spurs

Or us for that matter

Yes, I'm usually on the more pessimistic side when it comes to Forest but I really don't see Burnley overtaking us. They won't get much change out of the next three games at all.

It's still a three horse race between us, Luton and Everton.

I want to get this season wrapped up as soon as humanly possible.

But there is a part of me, sick sadist yada yada, that wants this season to go to the wire for people to experience an actual must win at Burnley to stay up or go down. Revolting isn't it? But also enticing.

I honestly think we will turn Everton over but if the worst does happen I still think with united and burnley left for us we still have enough to stay up “easily”

I was there when Sheffield United all but sent us down. Believe me, you don't.

Burnley will lose their next 3 games which means they cannot overtake us on the final day because of their terrible GD.

It is 1 from 3 (Everton, Forest or Luton).

The Luton game gives me lots of confidence we'll stay up. They really needed to win today and not even get a draw is bad.

Burnley won't catch us, they might draw level with us on points but that GD will screw them.
I admire your confidence that Burnley will not catch us.
They go to inconsistent Man U next.
Burnley suddenly grabbing a couple of wins recently, fighting for survival, against Man U, who may have either got an FA Cup final as their sole chance of getting silverware/European competition next season, or could be gutted if they lose v Coventry today.
If we need to get anything from our last game of the season to avoid us going down and them staying up I don't know if we have the minerals to get the points.

It's unbelievable how bloody negative some people are.
For many of us the last 25 years have taught us that Forest cannot always be counted on to deliver a performance when the chips are down.
It isn't negativity borne out of nothing: it is based on experience.

Like beating Arse last season to keep us up and deny them the title?

I didn't say that there have been no occasions when we can turn up and win.
I was trying to put a bit of context into some of the negativity.
After all, in the end it is the hope that beats you to a pulp.
I shall be watching the match this afternoon from the comfort of the settee.
I hope we give Everton a shoeing.
And if we do, I think it will virtually seal our safety... but who knows.
Enjoy the game, RH.
